So our Citroen C3 PURETECH FLAIR over the last few months has started to show the number plate when the reversing camera is activated and the alignment of the vehicle (guide lines) relative to the position of other vehicles appear off centre.
So after checking camera housing was securely mounted (it was) and thinking the camera inside the housing had just moved, I tried positioning the tailgate so that the camera just then showed a small part of the bumper and no number plate, as per picture below it took a large screwdriver wedged in the tailgate to achieve the correct position, at least this indicated that the actual reversing camera lens is probable at fault, but unsure if just unplugging the reversing camera and re-plugging it back in will fix the issue, or there maybe moisture inside the lens etc, or a new reversing camera maybe required ? (job for next weekend)

March 12, 2023 at 4:49 pm #23008Or it needs only new calibration.
I would asume its not in right position. But you’ll find out …

March 14, 2023 at 3:41 pm #23019Had a quick online, seems no way of calibration via the Citroen C3 instrument panel, but maybe a hidden command I am not aware of ?
Contacted a supplier of the reversing camera and they stated they where a ‘plug and go’ type arrangement, so no configuration options ?
Time to get the screwdriver out

March 14, 2023 at 8:10 pm #23023March 24, 2023 at 4:29 pm #23330So following on from above threads, I removed the Citroen C3 Flair Bootlid Tailgate interior trimming to expose the reversing camera. I unplugged the reversing camera for a couple of hours and then the reversing camera was plugged back in, alas reversing image was still showing to much bumper and most of the number plate.
A few pictures below showing the Citroen C3 Flair reversing camera removal stages:
The Citroen C3 Flair reversing camera was removed from the tailgate by depressing a couple of side lugs on the rear of the housing, the camera was then unplugged.
Below pictures of Citroen C3 Flair reversing camera removed form vehicle and disassembled

March 24, 2023 at 4:33 pm #23331Next test to try is unplug the Citroen C3 Flair car battery and see if that resets the camera lens, if not then a new reversing camera is required.
Just looking now to see if once the Citroen C3 Flair battery is unplugged, a Radio code maybe required ?
(would try removing reversing camera fuse first, but seems fuse for reversing camera is shared with radio/media etc)

March 25, 2023 at 1:05 pm #23408So after looking through the Citroen C3 service book, no indication of a radio code was evident so I decided this morning to unplug the car battery (disconnect the negative first, then the positive) and leave unplugged for an hour.
I then plugged back in the car battery, turned on the ignition and the Citroen C3 Flair car radio worked without any form of radio code being required.
Citroen C3 Fair after battery is unplugged does not need a radio code
The Citroen C3 Flair central locking worked as did the electric windows, but the Citroen C3 would not start, the starter motor turned the engine over but the engine would not start.
So assuming an immobilizer issue or an issue with the Citroen’s Engine Management System or BSI – Body Control unit (ECU) resetting, I know from past experience, Citroen’s seem to like being left alone for an hour or so.
So switched off the ignition, locked the car with the remote and left the Citroen C3 for an hour.
When I returned, I unlocked the car with the remote, I then put the key in the ignition, left ignition On for a couple of minutes and then attempted to start the Citroen which worked.
I then tested the Citroen C3 reversing camera image and alas the camera is still showing a large part of the number plate, almost like the camera focus has zoomed in a little.
Last test is to now purchase a new Citroen C3 Flair reversing camera (9809301180) and see if this corrects the view on the LCD screen.

March 25, 2023 at 2:31 pm #23415March 25, 2023 at 3:52 pm #23416There seems to be no way of adjusting the lens focus from the LCD screen on the Citroen C3 – no hidden / secret menu options that may help I cannot find.
Can find Engineering mode but this does not help
To enter Citroen’s Engineering mode, Long press on audio icon (but not too long).
and the Engineering Mode code number is 7503900

March 26, 2023 at 8:04 am #23429I mean on the lense, something to screw optical in or out or reposition lense inside.

Alas no, the lens and unit is sealed and water tight, I did hope it would be adjustable digitally, much like a modern mobile phone camera.
