I will have to throw the modem I have used for a long time in the trash. I’m about to go crazy because of these bugs. Now the connected clients are not visible.
Asus feedback support is very bad. I never got a return. The importance given to the customer is very low.
After using the device for a long time (2 weeks), the client part stops working. The “Refresh” button does not work in the screenshot.
QoS: Disabled
Wifi: N only / 40 MHz / Auto Channel
If I restart the device, the problem will be temporarily fixed. Also, the latest firmware still contains this issue. And system log dont show anything.

May 11, 2020 at 12:48 pm #7166When this next happens, check the Memory (RAM) usage as other owners have highlighted a memory usage bug and it would be interesting if this was causing your Client Status problem ?
Does this also happen if you use a different browser to access UI ?
Latest Official Firmware is Version 1.1.2.3_805 and below link gives access to ASUS DSL new beta firmware’s – DSL-N14U_v9.1.2.3_854-g837bd26.trx which is worth a try if you have not used already ?

May 11, 2020 at 2:49 pm #71683 Hours passed and the problem started again
I first noticed this issue in version 1.1.2.3_805. I later downgraded it to the previous version. (I reset by pressing the key)
There is free space in Ram. I guess the problem is with the modem interface. Because I can see the connected devices from “System Log – Wireless Log” section. However, the “Client Status” part, which works for a while after rebooting, stops working afterwards.
I get the same result from different devices and different browsers.

May 11, 2020 at 2:55 pm #7170Not a RAM problem, which is good, did you try Firmware DSL-N14U_v9.1.2.3_854-g837bd26.trx ?

May 11, 2020 at 3:14 pm #7172I upgraded the modem to the “DSL-N14U_v9.1.2.3_854-g837bd26.trx” version without factory reset, and the problem still persists. I will reset the modem and install it from the beginning. I will keep you posted.
edit: add screenshot

May 11, 2020 at 3:18 pm #7173That would be great if you could do that, if problem remains after factory reset, I will then contact ASUS and see if they are aware of this particular bug
Note: After factory reset, configure routers settings manually. not via a backup config file etc.

May 11, 2020 at 3:46 pm #7176Firmware: DSL-N14U_v9.1.2.3_854
1) I reset the modem by pressing the button on the back.
2) Now I am waiting for it to be reset. Meanwhile, I am clearing my browser’s cookies.
3) The modem has been reset.
4) I connected to the ASUS network.
5) I make DSL account and Wireless SSID settings.
6) I connected to the network with the new SSID.
7) I reached the modem interface.
8) “Client Status” section does not work. Refresh button does not change the result.
Only wireless devices are available on the network. I use only 4 devices. (all wireless). DHCP selected as default.

May 11, 2020 at 4:07 pm #7178Understood – I will speak with ASUS
Edit: can you try a wired (ethernet) connection, just to help with bug fix.

May 12, 2020 at 12:28 pm #7187Ok, I spoke with ASUS and they tested the DSL-N14U with wireless and wired connections and all worked as expected.
The ASUS engineer also tried your settings and still the router worked as expected
Hopefully other DSL-N14U owners can see if they have same bug ?

May 13, 2020 at 8:49 pm #7227I think I found something. The “client list” crashes whenever my ip camera is connected to the network.
While browsing the modem interface, I noticed a problem in the camera’s DHCP host name. The modem cannot read some letters :(
[ Some characters look like this:
in http://192.168.1.1/Main_DHCPStatus_Content.asp page ]
And I think this will cause a crash

May 14, 2020 at 6:49 am #7228Yes, that does sound like a possible cause, could I ask you to screen dump the settings which shows the above
And also tell us what letters/characters was causing the change originally.
If you change the letters and see if problem comes back, I will tell ASUS of this bug (or get/publish a list of approved characters from ASUS) and put in in the UKTechHub Wiki

May 14, 2020 at 8:26 am #7229If we look from the good side, I think we found the problem.
But my ip camera uses a fixed hostname
——————————————————————-
I added the screenshot to the attachment.
modem cannot detect the “ı” character. (Latin Small Letter Dotless I) (U+0131)
TıLGıNı-CAM → TLGN-CAM
