Thanks
Whilst I agree both routers, are probably great.
Has anybody actually used them in Double NAT situation, and still got DDNS working ?If I do replace the DSL router, I need to be certain I can overcome the Double NAT/DDNS issue with whatever I choose Asus or non Asus.

All,
Thanks all for your input and clarification on the double natting situation.
If I was to get another Asus router, which model supports double natting & DDNS ? (for a cable connection not DSL)
I now have options, I am happy to flash the router with merlin if that will achieve my goal
or I have a DSL-AC68U for sale.
Thanks again

Hello,
Thanks very much for looking into this, I really appreciate your help.
What you say about PPPoE & WAN type makes perfect sense, I just hope there is a solution

Thanks again

So if I select PPPoE, what further details might I need to add related to ISP ??

Hi,
Here is a screen shot attached, I can now see PPPoE should I be using that instead of how it was set
to Automatic IP

Hi
Sorry for the late reply.
I have got the VM hub in modem mode, and the asus router receives its connection from the VM hub, via WAN port (not using the DSL part of asus router)
I have now successfully registered a asuscomm.com DDNS address
But is there anything else I need to configure, as putting the new url I have created does not get me to the router when browsing
Thanks
