I have seen from other users the DSL-N16 is using a high amount of RAM, I am sure the usage should not be that high, does the RAM usage ever increase to 58MB ? Wifi password is interesting, is this 2.4Ghz and is this only with certain wifi clients, what length password are you using currently ? Try changing wifi control channel to 3 or 7 ?
ram usage increase during times right after reboot free RAM was 22MB.modem uptime was more than 3 days.but you are correct it should not be that high and asus firmware has bug/glitch.
wifi band is 2.4 GHz and all client lost wifi connection and internet connection, also i was not able to open modem setup page (192.168.1.1) via wifi. password length is 13 characters.
i’ll try to change wifi channel and see if problem happen again.

Perhaps indeed local ISP blocked it. ———– UK Sentinel
hello dear,i am able to connect to DE server with my iphone and it has no problem .also vpn client in asus dsl-n16 modem-router is disable

i have another router but it doesn’t support vpn client. as you can see with PPTP protocol it has no issue and modem uptime is more than 15 hours …
also did ASUS reply to your feedback? please ask them to release a new beta update and address this issue

October 1, 2019 at 1:54 pm in reply to: ASUS DSL-N16 issue with l2tp vpn connection Hello.my asus dsl-n16 reboot itself when i connected to l2tp vpn connection after few minutes please help me . #4643Understood, I think try Version 1.1.2.3_473 if this does not work, then we need to look at how you are setting up L2TP Is there any reason why you prefer L2TP, as this does not offer any encryption and do you only have the VPN Client set up (no VPN server) ?
hello dear , i flashed oldest firmware available in asus website (1.1.2.3_473) and i did factory reset but the rebooting issue is not solved when i use l2tp vpn client .
i setup l2tp vpn client with vpn server address, username and password then activate it . i use it because it is faster and the vpn service i use only support pptp and l2tp protocol.
do you think asus is aware about this issue ?

i don’t know when i bought this modem i was not aware about this issue and i updated modem to latest software .firmware version that came with modem was (1.1.1.2)..
so far i tested these versions all have same issue and factory reset didn’t help :

- v9.1.2.3_783 (latest beta)

i didn’t restore setting to default but i will try that and report back.
after factory reset and setup modem as new the issue with l2tp vpn connection apears again …
