The memory usage of a Linux router mainly consists of cache/buffering and so a build up over time is expected, but do agree when the limits hit 90%, there is concerns as temp files etc, should be cleared …..
I assume issues are around the DSL CPU (BCM63138) and another component (maybe wifi) and am waiting for when an DSL-AC88U owner hits 95% to see if DSL-AC88U falls over so I can then pass this information back to ASUS for further investigation.
BTW – according to ASUS, the next formal/stock//official firmware release for the DSL-AC88U is planned for June/2019, but they will be releasing interim Betas during this timeframe.
