I believe CityFibre is a wholesale network much like BT Openreach is for DSL,  they just pass the traffic through to the wholesale customer. How they terminate sessions is up to them.

Depending on which ISP you use, will depend upon equipment options, but much like most of the others, as long as you leave the Fibre ONT is place, then just simply connect whatever router you like via WAN port.

Slightly different, but I just set-up a Virgin Media M100 fibre package in one of my kids Student house share, they use Coaxial for last leg, but there is an option to put the supplied router in Modem mode and then you plug in whatever you wish
