Well spotted and yes WPA2 has been around for a while now, does seems as though Wireless speeds increase exponentially, but less so the Encryption side I assume for the sake of backward compatibility.
I still remember WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) back in the day and the jump to WPA was a big step (improvement) back in those days.
