try the below, I have also dropped ASUS an email and they say it cannot be done, so am a little miffed by what they said ?

wan vdsl2 set max_ds_rate ‘value’  (value = kbps ÷  8) 80000kbps ÷  8  then value  input = 10000

Trick is I do not think this will survive a reboot and does not work on ADSL connections I believe
