Has anyone had any experience setting up an Asus DSL-AX82U using this broadband supplier? I am changing my ISP. The router usually sets up the connection using the automatic setup. 1p broadband is relatively new/unknown, so I am slightly concerned that it may not connect automatically and I have no idea then, where I would get the settings for their service from. Any tips or help appreciated.

Welcome, must admit never heard of 1p Broadband but hopefully we can work through what you might need.

What service are you subscribing to as they seem to offer both Fibre (FTTC) and Full fibre (FTTP) ?

    FYI:

1P Broadband is owned (tiered) by Utility Warehouse (amongst a few others) and there DSL Router settings are as per below link.

1P DSL Broadband Settings for Ultra Broadband (should be the same a 1P Broadband):

    • Connection Type: PPPoE
    • VLAN Tag ID: 101
    • DNS Settings: Auto or Primary: 62.24.128.17/Secondary 62.24.128.18

‘Username and Password- This is printed on the letter that we sent welcoming you to our service. These are also available in the Home Phone and Broadband service area of your UW account’.

    https://help.uw.co.uk/article/broadband_and_landline/router_information/can-i-connect-using-my-own-wi-fi-router

This configuration sound very simular to that of PLUSNET / BT – so when you set-up your DSL-AX82U for your new 1P broadband service and the option for 1P broadband or simular is not present, choose PLUSNET or BT

    Hope this helps ?

Thank you for your help. I have just checked the manual initial settings on my Asus router to connect to the ISP and “Utility Warehouse” is listed as an ISP. Should connect without issues when I change over. One question….Would it be best to reset the router and start afresh or just create the new connection from the initial set-up menu? when I change over.

Great news, personally I would ensure you are running the latest firmware for the DSL-AX82U – Version 3.0.0.4.386.49608  and then factory reset as this may remove any bugs, corruption that maybe in the settings etc…

Just for Internet you need VLAN ID and 802.1p priority bit number (usually its 0 for Internet),MTU and your PPPoE username and password if ISP is useing PPPoE.

Example for my Croatian ISP Hrvatski Telekom (T-Com) on VDSL2

    Internet VLAN ID 1203  802.1p 0
    IPTV      VLAN ID  1500  802.1p 2

Actually i think this forum needs some nice pinned post for ISP settings like i did on Croatian PCE Forum.
