I took the plunge and bought the 2 pack BQ16 and put the 3 pack BT10 on sale for £650.

Been using them for the past 2 days.  It came with firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_36104 out of the box and automatically updated to firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_36869 during setup.

I am now on the latest firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_36909, which I manually updated to.

    1. Enhanced input parameter handling techniques to improve data processing stability and system security.
    2. Enhance system access control mechanisms.

From my initial testing, for my use case, 2 BQ16 are giving me better connectivity and speeds around the house than the 3 BT10 did.  Most likely due to limitation of MLO backhaul when you daisy chain 3 units.

Some people have a thing for cars, I enjoy new tech like mobile phones etc.

Not sure how long I will keep this one for.  Already sold the BT10’s, gone within a few hours.  Seems like it is very popular.

I will next sell the XT8’s when I am happy with the BQ16.

As you say previously, if you can manage with just 2x BQ16’s for coveridge, then you get full effect of MLO backhaul and probably save a few pennies with electricity by only running 2x BQ16’s rather than 3x  BT10’s

This is the speed I am getting from the room furthest away from the main BQ16 unit.  I used to get maximum 600-700Mbps up and down with the 3 BT10.

It is basically similar Wi-Fi speed that I get standing right next to the main BQ16 unit.

The MLO mesh connection quality fluctuates between GREAT and OK.  I think any RSSI dBm 70 or over makes the quality go from GREAT to OK.

Also, now my smart TV connects to the 5GHz Wi-Fi, and not the 2.4GHz as it can see the 5GHz-1 SSID.

RSSI dBm -70 is on the limit for wireless signal strengths and good to see you are making full use of your new 5GHz-1 SSID.

The Wifi speeds especially the upload are amazing, luckily (OPENREACH) are starting the groundworks for Fibre in our area so I can soon also enjoy those wireless speeds

Good to hear Openreach fibre will be available for you soon.  No doubt it will be mega expensive.

Any chance you can get confirmation if UK support of the BQ16 will actually end on 31/12/2026 or is that a typo by Asus?

My BQ16 setup has been rock solid so far since day 1.

Noticed one thing in the logs, any ideas what this means as it appears in the logs several times?

    kernel: WLC_SCB_DEAUTHORIZE error (-30)

Looks like a client device is being deauthorised or disconnected from the wireless network by the Wireless LAN Controller (WLC) and Secure Client Block (SCB) but then the error.

The -30 I think refers to signal strength, but I am less sure about that

So ASUS have kindly come back and for the ASUS ZenWiFi BQ16 the EOL is now (until 31th December 2028).

ASUS have also kindly updated the below publication to reflect this new EoL date.

Thanks for getting confirmation.  The fixed EoL date makes more sense.

I decided to keep the BQ16 after testing it for a few days and confirmation on the EoL date was the icing on the cake.  As the official price has been reduced all over the internet, the seller kindly gave me a further discount on his original price and I have bought them for £600 .  Essentially a £300 reduction on the brand new price, even if purchased directly from Asus.

Any ideas what these weird repeated logs mean?
