Yes, all set up with Plusnet I am, went for their FTTC offer 70/20 Mbps, alas we do not have FTTC in our area and not paying BT prices this time round.

congrats, yes, the “deal” they offering me for same speed is just over £5 a month more than I’m paying now (if I hadn’t paid line rental upfront) so not prepared to pay that as PlusNet are slightly cheaper than what I pay now.

However, as BT have written to me now saying I can signup to the deals, I am going to wait for black Friday, see what deals BT offer then and will see if I can change contract if suitable, if not will let contract run and change ISP in last 30 days of existing contract, likely to PlusNet as parents been ok so far and was easy to get the ASUS router to connect, PlusNet router hasn’t even been opened :)

I’m also partly tempted to sign up with Sky and get the Sky Steam box but at £40 a month, works out a bit pricey so might have to forgo that idea, it’s just sometimes in my area the TV signal goes out and I can’t watch anything on the TV which is where the sky steam would be handy as it works over internet so could basically use it all the time and not use the aerial, which is probably the way things will go eventually anyway.

Nice to have those sort of choices and Sky broadband services do rate well generally

kev, you should have a look tomorrow after 9am there should be some interesting deals on BT. Tomorrow is the proper launch of EE services including 1.6 Gbps FTTP. They are also integrating netduma into their router: https://netduma.com/blog/ee/

    I’m hoping BT follow.

Not seen any good deals… Had another look today and I see BT now want a fair bit more for the same package I have now, I’ve contacted BT to see what my exit fee would be if a terminate the contract (It’s up in April) so thinking about moving now as some deals in the blackfriday with other ISPs too.

Black Friday deals does sound your last best chance if you are sticking with BT

Agree but BT prices are just too high compared to others so looking like I’ll switch as the cost to exit should be covered by the money I’ll get back they seem to have indicated so should still get some cash back after the termination fee so we will see.  Plus if I leave it another week so, I’ll pull the trigger just before my bill is due in so should work out another month les to pay in termination fees or best part of a month anyway :)
