Thanks for the link, never used Quidco ? and just had a look, as you say some nice offers and cash back offers, so will be looking at this in the future

I did use uswitch.com / broadbandchoices.co.uk and a few others for comparison

December 3, 2021 at 8:09 am #16561Interesting I checked the BT Black Friday Fibre 2 deal this morning as it finished on the 2nd Dec, now BT are offering the Fibre 2 for £32.99 and no initial first three months for free. still a 24 month contract.
So will be interesting to see what happens with BT offering running upto Xmas

December 3, 2021 at 11:39 am #16587December 14, 2021 at 8:40 am #16717So my BT Service today switched from Plusnet (Unlimited Fibre Extra) to BT (Fibre 2)
As an intersting exercise, I thought i would post my Vigor 130 DSL stats when I was connected to Plusnet and compare them to BT stats in a few days time.
PLUSNET Stats:
DS Actual Rate: 78762000 bps
DS Attainable Rate: 76269512 bps
US Actual Rate: 1999000 bps
US Attainable Rate: 21457000 bps

December 14, 2021 at 1:08 pm #16721When I was with BT, I found their DLM was quite aggressive. This prompted me to switch to TalkTalk. I was on the 80/20 package, not sure if BT have that package still.

December 14, 2021 at 6:02 pm #16722I used to be on BT 80/20 service around 2 years ago, which is the equivalent to there current BT Fibre 2 offering, the regulators stopped most if not all ISP saying what you could possible have synch rate and insisted they must quote actual possible such rates, hence mine is 47/70 Mbps download and 11/18Mbps upload.
Hopefully my synch rate will at least equal what I had with Plusnet

December 21, 2021 at 8:45 am #16792BT Fibre 2 Stats:
In essence no real DSL stats change, but interestingly, my Son has had only a couple of Fut champs / Fifa rivals disconnects (usually he had 3 or 4 a night) and still we are using IPv4 ?
Note: ‘NE ES Count: Downstream Errored Seconds’ count has significantly reduced – so will watch this over the next few weeks ?

December 27, 2021 at 4:07 pm #16859I check the BT Broadband site today and still seems the ‘BT Black Friday Fibre 2 deal’ I purchased back in November was/is still the best around.
Currently BT Fibre 2 is £32.99 and £9.99 for postage of Broadband kit, back in November the offer was for the first 3 months free then £32.99 and broadband kit was delivered for free

April 12, 2022 at 9:03 pm #18681Hi, I got my FTTP 150mb for less than £32.99 a month, albeit no 3 months free… They charged me to deliver smarthub 2.

April 13, 2022 at 7:59 am #18683That does seem a great price for FTTP, considering I paid £32.99 BT Fibre 2, FTTP and its extra speed is for the simular price is a good deal

April 13, 2022 at 6:50 pm #18688Yes, i had to confirm couple of times in chat just to be clear as I’m sure there must be a catch but nope… that’s the price and as i pay line rental up front, its a lower monthly cost but if i paid monthly would be less than £32.99 :)
Amazing price.. its only £2 more than they wanted for me previous 36MB package… so seemed a no brainer considering additional speed FTTP gives so should be able to stream 4K films etc now :)
Plus was told I wont get this years price increase but will get it in 2023 (whatever it is then, the standard RPI/CPI increase) so not too bad at all. Just hoping next year price increases isn’t another 9% etc…

April 13, 2022 at 9:14 pm #18690I wonder if they (BT) custom services new at the time that you would not also receive the digital voice service and or that the copper was going to have to remain in your premises ?
Either way, still a great price
