So today the IHD is showing a Gas value of ยฃ0:69 and its been very sunny today, yesterday and the day before was overcast and no Gas value was showing.

Well based on the theory you should have some nice gas readings over the next couple of days with the high temperatures we expecting :)

Had an email yesterday form Octopus/Engineer and they are visiting on Thursday to replace gas meter, or at least swap out the battery I hope

So Meter Engineer visited today and swapped out the Gas meter, he did said the battery was depleted, but they replace whole unit as this reduces the chance of repeat visits due to other potential faults in the future.
Happy I am again and IHD is showing a value once again for Gas.

That’s what the Engineer (Meter) remarked on, he did say as the Gas and Electric meter are in direct sunlight (late afternoon and evening) this can/could have effected battery life.
Or could be just a rouge batch of faulty batteries. (my words not the engineer’s)
IHD is showing both Gas and Electric values today, so does seem as though issue is resolved.

great news. My IHD gave up while back, how I use hugo app to check usage for elec. Not too bad but it seems they recently released a pro version and seems like more will move to pro version only., for example, this years winter saving they do by advising save energy between x and y time and they give you x amount per unit saved etc, is now only on the pro version which is a paid for app. Not too fused as i tried it last year but didn’t work too well as they also did times when i needed to use elec so I think I got 6p in total lol

Forgot to add a picture of our new Octopus GAS Smart Meter which we had replaced last year.
The new Gas Smart Meter is a GS-60B, second generation SMETS2 compliant gas meter.
