Upgraded router merlin fw to 384.17 this morning, did a factory reset, and connected HG612 lan2 to router. I can access modem through router now.
Seen this in router stats, getting this log every 3 seconds or so – May 2 09:52:09 kernel: br0: received packet on eth1 with own address as source address ?

May 2, 2020 at 9:23 am #6870Check if modem hold connection, these stats are only from 10 mins, unless you reboot modem as well with router.

May 2, 2020 at 11:03 am #6872How did you configure router? 🤔
With two cable option you should have automatic wan IP, you can change dns if you want. To give modem ip like on vigor don’t give you any benefits, but can cause issues with two cables option.

May 2, 2020 at 11:22 am #6874Yes, and make sure HG612 have different IP on lan than asus but they must be in same IP group eg. 192.168.1.xx.

May 2, 2020 at 11:26 am #6875I have configured the modem on 192.168.1.XX, the router is on 192.168.0.XX, i have configured router wan to modem lan.

Modem – lan 192.168.1.2
Subnet mask 255.255.255.0
Router – 192.168.1.1
Subnet mask 255.255.255.0
Wan IP automatically, as you access modem through lan port.

May 2, 2020 at 12:07 pm #6884Also as mentioned earlier setup in lan in router start address from eg 192.168.1.6 so router will not assign IP dedicated for modem lan to other device. Then you should see modem ip eg. 192.168.1.2 on your connected devices list.

May 2, 2020 at 12:09 pm #6885Set wan IP on router to auto, i have internet but now cannot access modem.
***EDIT*** – CHANGED BACK TO MANUAL AND I CAN NOW ACCESS MODEM.
