Thanks, I looked in the overview tab on the mobile app and itâs not obvious to me the type of exchange. I did however discover a website that identifies the cabinet by landline number and it says it is an âECIâ?
Think Iâll head out to Argos and buy myself a cheap corded phone to test the line for noise.

Morning, thanks for the help. The faceplate is a Mk4, it was installed by Openreach 2 years ago in efforts to reach the minimum speed guarantee, but still fell just short. The 7530 plugs straight into it with 8 metres of  quality (solid core/twisted pair) cable.
The line speed increased slightly overnight to 50Mbit/s, I guess thatâs DLM still settling.
I donât recall the router updating recently and it seems to indicate being up to date.
Should I be looking for the downstream SNR going from 7 towards 3 for an improvement? I think this is where I am getting confused.
Thanks

Thanks Grisu, thatâs what I feared. Prior to this I was getting a stable 54.5Mbit/s (a whisker below the Vodafone minimum speed guarantee). Our internet gets hammered throughout the day with us both working from home, driving CAD applications on Remote Desktop and constant Skype calls; it never skipped a beat in the 7 months since I got the Fritzbox. The weather turned on Thursday and thatâs when it started to go pear shaped.

Thanks all for your help. I set it up tonight without any difficulty. I manually configured the Vodafone username, password and vlan and it connected on 1st attempt. WiFi range seems better than the Vodafone THG3000 and I have a Fritz 3000 repeater being delivered tomorrow. Cant quite get my head around the auto band selection as according to the GUI all devices seem to have defaulted to the 2.4GHz. The only evidence of Zen on the router was the option to configure for Zen or âotherâ in the connection settings. Not updated the OS or firmware yet but so far itâs gone much better than I expected. Thanks again for your help.

The Zen Fritz!box arrived but I have to admit all the discussion about deleting TR-069 and telnetting is a bit beyond me. Can I remote into the box and configure the username etc before plugging in the RJ11 and connecting to the Vodafone network? We are all working/schooling from home at the moment so for the sake of my marriage I may wait for the weekend before fumbling around with this.

Perfect, thanks for the comprehensive replies. I am on Vodafone Superfast 2, sync speed is showing as 53.4. From reading the zen guides, the router is configured ready to go. I will follow the above steps and hope for the best. Thank you
