Let us know how you progress with AVM (Fritz!Box) and do not forget, ASUS do offer RT series of wifi routers which tend to work very well, especially if using RMerlins (ASUSWRT-Merlin) firmware (specific model). but a separate modem is required.

Well i finally bought AVM Fritz!Box 7590 and everything… works fine!!!
ASUS support was wrong… and they should consider to be more serious about their costumers and their software team should be more carefull!!!
My conclusion is that my FTP problem with NAS was in the firewall or the port forwarding… because not even Synology NAS could cooporate with this modem router and open ports for the FTP service.
Their behaviour force me to buy a new Synology NAS first and the Fritz!Box to work correclty.
AVM is great even for a small company… i believe not as fast as ASUS, but it’s totally stable and their software is great with no problems!!!
ASUS should follow thier example about how a modem router software should work…!!!
Thank you for listening to me and the owners to be patient about firmware problems!!!

Thank you for your interest!!! Of course i will sale the AC88U i’m very very disappointed, with AC68U i never had problems!!!
And of course, i’m not going to buy again an asus network product, i feel like being a beta tester all the time… as i can see from many many users and their complains about this product!!!
I will go to AVM and see if everything is going to work again. Thank you again for your time!!! :)

I’m using X-Plore for Android to Access my FTP service through smartphone, from laptop and Desktop i use only Firefox (built-in support) to download from FTP service and not any specific FTP client program.
The same programs and exactly the same things i was using and before with the AC68U, with no problems!!!
Yes of course, i don’t have any problem but which settings do you want to use ??
By trying to use Native FTP service from the router to open 21 port or by trying through upnp from Synology NAS ?? (I have send them also before 3 days a feedback inside AC88U but they didn’t answer me).

I have tried remotely from a desktop pc and a laptop, with the same result… it doesn’t respond. From my smartphone says connection refused (not failed).
When i press apply to the port forwarding rules it give me access for some time and then it denies again… also when i reboot AC88U it works fine for some time.
Firewall is disabled and AiProtection too.
I tried also from Synology NAS to open ports through upnp (and disable Asus native FTP service as they say to avoid conflict) by custom port rule and i have the same result, they have also a compability list that NAS cooporate with but AC88U isn’t… they support automatic rules since AC68U, i send them a report which router i use so to support it on a future firmware.

Does anyone else have problem with port forwarding and FTP service ?
When i activate FTP service from the ASUS port forwarding tab, i can have access to my files but after some short period of time it denies access from the remote smartphone or laptop…
i have tried (the opposite) to open 21 port from Synology NAS through upnp and it gives me access for some time and then denies access again…
when i had DSL -AC68U my FTP service was working properly, i suspect DSL-AC88U for this behavior.
Also AC88U says as notice:
“When you set 20:21 as your FTP server’s port range for your WAN setup, then your FTP server would be in conflict with DSL-AC88U’s native FTP server”
I do what it says but it doesn’t cooporate, it works only for a small period of time!!
