Okay so I have the opportunity to get an RT-AC86U at discount and sell on my DSL-AC88U. Any opinions please? I have been watching this thread around the DSL firmware and it seems to have dried up compared to the 86U which has at least had a 2019 release! I realise that I will have to go back to a seperate modem but the future proofing seems better? I value your input :-)

I like asuswrt as I used to use ddwrt. The flexibility is usually great.

I have therefore disabled airtime fairness but also wondered if there were any other settings or tweaks I should be aware of. TBH the DHCP seems flaky and now I am worried I made the right decision in going for another Asus!
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers in advance
