According to DrayTek, BT SIN 498 is required
https://www.draytek.co.uk/information/our-technology/bt-sin-498 I have not tested Aimesh myself on the DSL-AX82U, but it is planned, so given time should work as well as other ASUS models supporting Aimesh. Enjoy your new purchase when it arrives from Italy

Thanks – very informative
It sounds like it’s something that can be handled via firmware upgrades?

Interesting, can i ask where you purchased your DSL-AX82U as I was told by ASUS for UK, the end of April was the availability and I am sure others will be interested also ? Gaming from my perspective was poor, usually down to QoS and how the Broadcom chipsets handel SMP, the gameplay (Xbox – PC) was framey etc. maybe something ASUS can improve upon over time ? (I removed your other post as it was almost a duplicate of this )
Thanks for the reply
I found one one Amazon.de – I think it’s actually shipping from Italy?
So I read more about the 498 standard but from what I found there is no real issue if you are not an ISP yourself, I.e. if I am just a private individual using a non compliant device..
Could you elaborate on “how the chipset handle SMP?” – I am mainly a pc game so not sure that would also impact that?
Thanks again
Edit: also adding that I plan to set up AiMesh with the same model but just router version as I have multiple storeys and old house

Hi all, it’s been already one week since I bought ASUS DSL-AX82U from “Proshop” (https://www.proshop.dk/?s=dsl-ax82u), I bought it from German Proshop.de (199 EU), just check those shops every day, they order from time to time, but it’s fast sold for a few hours. What can I say, I’ve had DSL-AC88U but DSL-AX82U is just a Monster, very fast indeed, one old bug though (every ASUS DSL Routers have) in Traffic Monitor – Daily after reboot all parameters reset to 0,00 GB, but I can live with that. Good luck all.
Hi, I bought this to use in UK.
Any issues or special setup for pc and PlayStation gaming?
Previously in the thread was mentioned look elsewhere for gaming, but why?
