As a follow up looks like at last @GNUton has publicly announced he is supporting the DSL-AX82U like he did previously with the DSl-AC68U by offering an ASUS  DSL device with ASUSWRT-Merlin overlay.

By Adding ASUSWRT-Merlin to the DSL-AX82U, this now makes the DSL-AX82U a device worthy of  consideration for VDSL2 (not G.fast) etc,

For those following this thread and who have PM’d me, I am happy to say I have spoken with ASUS and they plan to release the DSL-AX82U in UK/EU towards the end of April 2021.

For those based in Australia, it is looking that the DSL-AX82U / DSL-AX5400 will be released shortly  afterwards

Hi all, it’s been already one week since I bought ASUS DSL-AX82U from “Proshop” (https://www.proshop.dk/?s=dsl-ax82u), I bought it from German Proshop.de (199 EU), just check those shops every day, they order from time to time, but it’s fast sold for a few hours.

What can I say, I’ve had DSL-AC88U but DSL-AX82U is just a Monster, very fast indeed, one old bug though (every ASUS DSL Routers have) in Traffic Monitor – Daily after reboot all parameters reset to 0,00 GB, but I can live with that.

Just finished testing with the latest firmware from ASUS for the DSL-AX82U (DSL-AX82U_3.0.0.4_386_42438-g045583a_cferom_puresqubi) and only ADSL can be Tweaked, VDSL cannot.

 

I also spoke with ASUS today and they have been been advised by Broadcom that VDSL SNR adjustments should be possible, but this does not seem to work on there Firmware and ASUS have also confirmed this 

Hopefully they will manage to fix this problem ?

So I tried the CMD – bcm_xdslctl configure –maxDataRate 102400 57599 524280

and seems not to like the bcm_xdslctl element.

or

Any issues or special setup for pc and PlayStation gaming?

 

Previously in the thread was mentioned look elsewhere for gaming, but why?
