Welcome, in theory V1 and V2 of the XT8 should be compatible from an AiMesh (wireless backhaul) perspective, but in reality keeping the models as simular to each other as possible is a safe option.

If your XT8 nodes are connected by ethernet cables, then the above does not apply.

Not sure if you are running @GNUtons custom firmware which is based on ASUSWRT-Merlin and much loved in the ASUS router community.

FYI: V2 hardware version in 2023 has the brand new Broadcom 1.7GHz Quad-Core CPU. The older ZenWiFi XT8 V1ย  comes with a 1.5GHz Quad-Core CPU.

If you are, or are planning to run @GNUtons firmware at any point, V1 is only supported.
