I may have missed this recommendation, but I have had issues with Broadcoms QAM , as this only really works with other Broadcom Nics and has issue over distances, maybe try changing to Modulation Scheme to 9 MCS (TurboQAM) (2.4 and 5GHz) and re-enable the beamforming options recommended by @XRW etc.
After making changes, reboot router.
Beamforming does work and is a great idea, position aerials as in pic below and/or try tilting the middle two aerials slightly to help with upstairs connections ?
