I have not plugged in the HG612 yet to use as modem.  It does get more than warm after an hour just being turn on and not doing any work.  It is the B version.  I am hoping to do the quiet line test straight after dinner tonight.  If the noise is there I will hopefully call BT tonight.

Do I have to unplug modem to do line test?
