No packet loss, also tested with cmd.

Good news, how are you testing with Bufferbloat (PC / App) ?
Edit: Also wondering if at all possible, test with laptop with Ethernet cable plugged into main (primary) XT8, just to see if the issue remains (bufferbloat) ?

November 2, 2021 at 11:12 am #16039Tried that last night and looks like it’s a WiFi thing.
With the laptop, ethernet was ‘A’ testing with both Waveform and DSLreports but far worse over WiFi than with my phone.
I then turned on QoS and set it to Web Surfing and that improved it over WiFi to A on my phone but took a hit on speedtest.

November 2, 2021 at 12:03 pm #16040Does sound that way – Can we have a look (screen dump) at your wifi settings ?
BTW – you connections to the XT8 is that 2.4 or 5Ghz for testing ?

November 2, 2021 at 4:09 pm #16044Does all look OK, nothing jumps out that would cause excessive buffering,
out of interest, what make is laptop ?

November 2, 2021 at 4:45 pm #16045I am using Lenovo laptop on Windows 11.
My connection seems fine other than what the tests show. Just weird that the test results went down after upgrading to 1Gb.

Absolutely – as you have highlighted, probable wifi related but no obvious reason as others are reporting no issues etc.
Shame you do not have a second laptop, just to verify original wifi buffer bloat results
I assume original tests you made sure you was in close proximity of nodes or primary ?

November 2, 2021 at 6:20 pm #16047The original test was at close proximity to the main unit on Wifi 6 with an android phone.

Interesting, might be a limitation in the wifi throughput speeds that ASUS will address over time hopefully.
Might be worth if you have time sending a feedback form, just to let them know
BTW – if I was testing, I would try AiProtection Off for both Wifi and Ethernet bufferbloat impacts, and then compare with AiProtection On, just incase the issue is AiProtection related.
But I am sure you must be fed up with all this by now

November 2, 2021 at 8:54 pm #16049I think you may be right on the wifi throughput as the problem. My thinking is on the upload side?
The only thing I turn on is ‘Time Scheduling’ under ‘Parental Controls’. Nothing is turned on in AiProtection.
I also tested with the beta 46197 which has all AiProtection disabled and it is the same issue.
If testing at the main XT8 gives worse bufferbloat than at the node, then the most logical conclusion from me is as you say throughput related. My max speed at the 4th node is 540/525Mbps up/down and at the main XT8 is much higher, closer to 840/880Mbps up/down.
The issue is the same on node number 2 which is closest to the main XT8, at this node the speed is over 650/650Mbps up/down and also worse bufferbloat than the furthest away node.
Find it puzzling and interesting…..
