had a teams call via Office laptop, connected through vpn this morning that took about 2 hours : no interruptions whatsoever. yesterday did some streaming video from nas : no interruptions whatsoever. same with remote desktop sessions : no trouble. Conclusion : if Asus finalizes this beta into a new official release, all would be good!! I would (finally) be a happy customer :-)
That is amazing news that it seems like it is fixed for you too.
I have also relayed back to the ASUS contact that this beta is a winner for Teams calls.
@UK Sentinel, any ideas what this firmware is?

I tested for a few hours over the weekend, seemed good but took a huge hit on download speed.

October 25, 2021 at 1:33 pm #15928ASUS sometimes release individual Beta’s to address specific issues, so if the person testing the beta confirms the particular issue they was having has been resolved, then the fix is folded into future releases.
So short story is no

November 1, 2021 at 1:00 pm #16012I noticed something that seems a bit weird to me recently.
Whilst testing for bufferbloat it looks like it is higher at the main XT8 than the nodes, even testing one furthest away was better than the main unit.
I used the following sites and got similar results:
https://www.waveform.com/tools/bufferbloat
http://www.dslreports.com/speedtest
Could it be because the speed at the main node is higher, which is why bufferbloat is more prevalent on it? Bufferbloat seems to shows up on the upload on the main unit.

November 1, 2021 at 2:12 pm #16015What is the ‘ms’ bufferbloat value differences between main XT8 than the nodes ?

November 1, 2021 at 8:39 pm #16022November 1, 2021 at 8:53 pm #16023This is from waveform
I tried this on my XT8 (main node) and got B, but when using the dslreports site, it gave A. I did a few tests and the results were consistent.

November 1, 2021 at 8:57 pm #16024@Dodgydrains Needle in haystack is springing to mind – maybe a QoS option that is set differently to @jonathanmorris

November 1, 2021 at 9:08 pm #16025I have not changed anything is QoS, not sure if @jonathanmorris has set it to something.
When I was on the 500Mb package the bufferbloat on dslreport was A and A+. Only change is the package is now upgraded to 1Gb. Tested by downgrading to 42095, same thing. Seems like default QoS may be my issue with 1Gb?

November 1, 2021 at 9:10 pm #16027I don’t use QoS, but did turn it on (automatic) to see if that would change anything. I got a worse score on dslreports (C) but the same (B) on waveform. [This is 45898 by the way, not a beta, plus I have a 900/110 meg fibre connection]

November 1, 2021 at 9:10 pm #16028So 42095 also had high buffer-bloat ?
Edit: QoS at 1Gb should really be tuned off

Yes, on the new package from Hyperoptic. Plus I have not turned on QoS, it has not been toggled on.

I see, QoS at 1Gb should really be tuned off ?
