    Sorry I meant Smart Hub!

Gaming wise, the kids play their ps5 games online but don’t complain too much until this weekend with the issues!

Someone has installed FTTP here too but it’s not yet activated. Fibre Heroes I think so I’ll wait for that which is supposed to be imminent rather than buying the Draytek.

Wife has issues with Teams this morning. 1-2 second drop out a few times “we’re trying to reconnect you”

I need to test myself too and see if it was a one off

    Thanks all

Finally gave in tonight when the kids iPads kept getting kicked off every 2 minutes and wouldn’t re-join without turning Wi-Fi on and off – the pain of that is too much to take!

Reverted back to 42095 – finger crossed it’ll settle down now

Hopefully it’s down to my setup/devices rather than a general problem

    Thanks for your help

It will be interesting if  42095 is more stable on your connection type ?

I seem to be having no issues still. Touch wood.

Perhaps doing a full reset last time, before going back to 42095, has helped.. because a fair few settings reverted to default and I didn’t dare mess around with them.

(Plus, as I said, I am still rebooting every morning for the time being)

Good news, I think the issues with @dodgydrains (protocol 0000 is buggy, dev archer) occur after a few days, so rebooting every day by passes that issue.

But great news you are having no Wifi issues etc 👍

    Evening all,

After several hard resets and reverting back to 42095, had quite a few issues tonight after a relatively smooth day.

Devices being randomly blocked from the Internet, iphone, ipad PS5.

Sky Q complaining about not being connected to the Internet too

So I’ve  given in after 5 days of trying and I’m sending it back.

Maybe all the resetting etc has taken it toll on the device and caused some issues but it’s all happened since I did the upgrade after a couple of months of stability.

Thanks for the help and advice and good luck!

That is a shame but understandable given your set up, what system Mesh/AP are you going for next ?

I may turn the reboot off soon and see how things go.

I kept my Orbi RBK52 system so I’ve connected that back up for now. It’s not quite as quick especially with over 35 devices but it was pretty stable over the 2 or so years I had it.

I’ll do some extra research for a replacement as I do need one.

    Any recommendations?

Would be a good test to see if you have the same issues as @dodgydrains ?

One thing I noticed, but didn’t mention before, was that I had some devices that had issues with Wi-Fi after a previous upgrade. The Wi-Fi settings hadn’t changed (same SSID, passcode, encryption etc) and the device was able to connect – but didn’t properly ‘connect’ (hard to explain; it wasn’t a case of the passcode not working).

By forgetting the connection and then selecting it again, entering the exact same passcode, the affected devices reconnected and worked fine. The issue never repeated itself.

Maybe it was something to do with WPA (I think I am using WPA2/3 so that might be it?), I really don’t have a clue.

My suggestion might be to try this, however silly it sounds?

From memory, it was some of my phones and an older Manhattan DVB-S receiver that needed a disconnect/forget/reconnect.

Done now, so I can monitor tomorrow to see what happens.

I think that’s the issue I had. Where it was connected but couldn’t access anything, even the router.

I did try “forget network” on the ps5, 1 ipad and my iPhone but it didn’t work unfortunately.

Strangely though the other ipads/iphones didn’t have the issue.

I’m stumped to be honest with what went so badly wrong after the update.

Definitely missing the extra speed at distance since I’ve swapped it over. I’ve lost around 100mbps through a couple of walls compared to the XT8. Could be down to this not being Wi-Fi 6 though

I previously had similar problems with devices connecting and then disconnecting on 5GHz.  This was when I first bought the XT8’s.

For me the issue seemed to be ‘Authentication Method’.

Initially it was ‘WPA2-Personal’ and ‘Control Channel’ – Auto

I changed it to ‘WPA/WPA2-Personal’ and ‘Control Channel’ – 36

I have never had this problem since.  I now always set ‘WPA/WPA2-Personal’ and ‘Control Channel’ – 36.

It will be good to see it running it for a week like this gives you same problem as I had.  It was after 6 days that I got the problem.

Now 3 days 21 hours uptime since that problem.  Let’s see how it goes for me as well.
