Flashed with the DSL-AC68U_9.0.0.4_384_81451-g2429703.trx.zip succesfully. Added as a aimesh node succesfully. Adjusted the priority to the ethernet. Made a LAN to LAN connection (LAN Port 1 of DSL-AC68U) But no matter what I did, it didnt switch to the ethernet backhaul. I think ASUS disabled this feature in the firmware considering there is no WAN port.
I will ask ASUS on Monday about Ethernet backhaul (Node) for DSL-AC68U

October 12, 2019 at 4:51 pm #4776Thanks, at least we got a general idea of how this stuff will work.
October 12, 2019 at 6:47 pm #4782you could try to first change WAN port to LAN1 instead of DSL and then connect as Aimesh-node.
October 14, 2019 at 8:25 am #4797@Lax – Ok, so I have received feedback from ASUS and as you thought, Ethernet AiMesh backhaul for DSL-AC68U (RE) Node option does not work (not supported).
The latest Beta (DSL-AC68U_9.0.0.4_384_81451-g2429703.trx.zip) from ASUS does support AiMesh Ethernet Backhaul (CAP) Primary, but not for (RE) Node.
I also asked if they plan to allow the DSL-AC68U to support Ethernet backhaul for (RE) Node at some point in the future and they have no plans currently.

December 10, 2019 at 9:36 am #5326Hi guys, thanks for the great job.
After I upload the latest firmware, I can’t figure out how to put the DSL in AiMesh node mode.
I can’t find it anywhere even on the app.December 10, 2019 at 11:42 am #5328Hi guys, thanks for the great job. After I upload the latest firmware, I can’t figure out how to put the DSL in AiMesh node mode. I can’t find it anywhere even on the app.
So you have the DSL-AC68U and have loaded stock Firmware Version 3.0.0.4.384_81727 ?
What are you using as the Primary AiMesh router?

December 10, 2019 at 11:57 am #5329Primary Dsl AC68U 3.0.0.4.384_81727-g7c23ae8
node 1 RT AC68U 3.0.0.4.385_10000-gd8ccd3c
node 2 Dsl AC68U DSL-AC68U_9.0.0.4_384_81451-g2429703.trx
I can’t set the dsl2 in AiMesh node mode. Consequently the master does not find it.
tks
December 10, 2019 at 12:29 pm #5330Ensure both DSL-AC68U’s are using the same version firmware – 3.0.0.4.384_81727

December 10, 2019 at 12:48 pm #5331Done! but how do I set the second dsl in Aimesh mode?

Ok, so AiMesh is supposed to support both Hub and Spoke (Star) and/or Daisy Chain
Do not use app, log onto primary and use UI.
It is a fully automatic process and the AiMesh code decides what is best which includes whether to use 5GHz or 2.4GHz as backhaul (5GHz is better) but does have distance limitations.
Unsure of where your nodes are placed, (whether you have any ethernet backhaul) but best to bring Primary and Nodes within a Metre of each other and setup us as follows for wifi AiMesh
Setup up as Hub and Spoke topology so all nodes are within wifi range of primary
DSL-AC68U as Primary
DSL-AC68U as 1st Node
RT-AC68U as 2nd node
I have only ever tried AiMesh with 1 node and it is working well, currently in my house with RT-AC86U as Primary and DSL-AC68U as AiMesh Node

sorry but I didn’t understand where to make these settings inside the ui.
I can’t find them under the wifi menu, not even under the administration menu.
As for AiMesh I can only search for nodesDecember 10, 2019 at 3:57 pm #5336Currently Dsl ac68u primary and Rt ac68u node
they work great with AiMesh, I want to try adding the second DSL to keep it from doing nothingDecember 10, 2019 at 4:13 pm #5337The Firmware decides if Star or Daisy Chain (automatic) Change your set-up as per my suggestion regarding Primary and Nodes order of adding, Break current Aimesh and start again.
This will help clarify if 2nd DSL-AC68U is faulty and DSL-AC68 does not support Ethernet Backhaul for AiMesh

December 11, 2019 at 12:19 pm #5359I finally succeeded,
after 3 attempts the dsl was installed as the first node, as you said the router did everything automatically.
Thanks againAttachments:
