March 6, 2022 at 7:54 pm #18141Did this happen with older firmware versions before fw.959 ?
The errors reads like the ‘entropy source is not configured properly maybe caused by OpenSSL ‘ ?

March 8, 2022 at 6:54 am #18153I also tried the new firmware. By default, they are setting the SNR margin as 15db, and as a result, my bandwidth is around ~80mpbs now, but CRC errors are much lower now (1 minute/CRC to 5 minute/CRC). I’ll try different settings after checking the default ones for 24 hours.
edit: I’ve noticed that I forgot the update the other trials I’m doing. The disconnection log thing was about TV and PC indeed. When I completely disconnected them, I don’t see the warnings. About the AM radio test, I still couldn’t find an old AM radio but as soon as I find one, I’ll try that one as well.

March 10, 2022 at 6:36 am #18186Another update: after trying with default settings, the CRC errors went high (around 1 minute/CRC).
Then, I’ve tried the suggested settings (disable everything except bitswap etc.) while keeping SNR margin as 15db. after 48 hours, CRC was around 2.5 minute/CRC which is acceptable for me.
As a last trial, I’ll use 8db as the margin to see if it helps to reduce CRC errors (so increasing my bandwidth from 80 Mbps to 100 Mbps). I will update here when I get the results.

March 12, 2022 at 8:27 am #18222Hi, I’m having issue using the DNS-O-Matic DDNS for the latest firmware on DSL-AC52U (1.1.2.3_960).
It fails to update the IP since it redirect to https which it did not support
https://support.opendns.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360071971352/comments/360012471952I have contact with support previously which provided beta firmware (DSL-AC52U_9.1.2.3_893-gcc8fd6a.trx.zip) that fixes this issue but unfortunately not in this latest version…
DDNS log snippet:
<!–more–>
[Informational] kernel: DDNS Fail retry(5)
[Informational] kernel: ddns_execute(), interface[ppp100]
[Notice] ddns update: ez-ipupdate: starting…
[Notice] ddns update: connected to updates.dnsomatic.com (146.112.255.155) on port 80.
[Notice] ddns update: unknown return code: 301
[Notice] ddns update: server response: Moved Permanently
[Notice] ddns update: asusddns_update: 1
[Notice] ddns update: exit_main
[Informational] kernel: Reach DDNS MAX retry timesHope that this issue will be fixed, have to revert to the working version for now. Wish ASUS can give options to manually configure the DDNS, instead of choosing pre-defined list.

March 12, 2022 at 8:39 am #18223I will speak with ASUS and make them aware of the DNS-O-Matic DDNS issue with 1.1.2.3_960
Can you send a Feedback form using (DSL-AC52U_9.1.2.3_893-gcc8fd6a.trx.zip) firmware explaining this issues with firmware 1.1.2.3_960 and mention ‘UK Sentinel’ at the beginning of message as I can then ask them to look for the feedback form ?
Let me know when feedback has been sent ?
