May 2, 2020 at 1:52 pm #6912Agree with @Uk Sentinel, even you get different modem with broadcom chipset is not guarantee any better than you got now. Dsl-ac88u have really good chipset for Vdsl connection, but only that. On my line modem with lantiq chipset sync about 3-4Mb faster than any broadcom based modem. Even famous zyxel VMG1312-B10A sync lower than any lantiq based modem I tried on my line. Also if you get fastpath on downstream lantiq based modem is better as FEC are still on downstream which help reduce CRC (at least in my case) especially where you are on ECI cabinet. This is what G.inp enable on Huawei cabinet on broadcom based modems. I think HG612 maybe good to mantain line till you get fastpath, and then you maybe able to switch back to vigor, this is how I used to do with zyxel.

Second cable option was probable the cause, go back to what works, for now

May 2, 2020 at 1:59 pm #6916Fastpath I do not think will happen with your amount of errors – so the speed you get, will probable not change until underlying line noise / faceplate(possible damage) is addressed.

May 2, 2020 at 2:03 pm #6919Did you change Router IP / WAN address to Automatic, or back to manual, I forget ?
If Manual try 192.168.1.2 to access router, as you have changed a few settings and not sure where we are etc. especially if router was not rebooted after config changes etc ?

Totally agree, I will disconnect telephone line extension and give couple of hours(literally couple) and see how stats looks like, if that’s the case it will show up immediately. If @Bully keep amount of disconnections below 10 per day DLM shouldn’t action.

so you think modem is disconnecting multiple times during the day (I am a little lost) ?In a completely sane world, madness is the only freedom (J.G.Ballard).

May 2, 2020 at 2:29 pm #6922No, I mean, if modem need to be disconnected, it can be few times during the day but less than 10 times. Like swapping modems, change socket etc.
I was agree about noise and possibly faulty faceplate, I may be wrong but if @Bully had worse results on extension phone this mean for me that filtered signal is not filtered properly.

I see, and yes, a few times and DLM will not punish you for disconnects
