I figured out why I could not access router via its ip address, the Local Access Config was set to HTTPS only and not both.

If you fancy a change and have some spare time/cash, have a look at the Fritz!Box 3490 (£40) on Ebay and has Lantiq chipset, you can set it up so gaming is via Fritz!Box (wired) and wifi can be via ASUS router which is double NAT-ed to Fritz!Box.

@Grisu and I really like these units and other units made by AVM, but wifi not as strong as ASUS, so may need to use ASUS for wifi only

BT’s Smart Hub 2 does not offer the modem (Bridged) mode – and its DSL chipset is Broadcom and very locked down.

I was just thinking of the Fritz!Box 3490 as this is a well built unit and gives you access to stats etc via UI and manages its own Bitswap / SRA etc so may be of benefit to yourself. (maybe) !

Alas I could not find an online Emulator for the Fritz!Box 3490

Alas not sure what stats the Smart hub gives, but maybe worth a try in the name of science

That’s not really modem only mode, that’s poor imitation of it 😜. From one side may be good when reporting issues to BT so they can do some line test with it but that maybe only one plus of that. I had setup EE smart hub that way, most annoying thing is that you have to keep an eye on that as they can change your settings remotely and it will not work as you wish. 😉
