I’d say let them replace your line with a fiber if it is available. I think you should be able to directly connect your new asus router to the pon box they will gave you after replacing your line with fiber.

Most of the ISP’s in Turkey will tell you that you have to use their modem for fiber but it is actually not true. You can use any router, this guy explains how to do that:

Yeah it is good after the restart. I get 2-3 crc per hour which can be caused by the part of the old line they did not replace.

One thing I noticed is when it is night snr margin drops to 13.1 and jumps back to 13.6 after morning every day. Something probably interferes with the signal. It is not the street lamp that close to my cable because it drops hours after lights on. It does not affect my speed but an interesting thing.

I’m also trying to get fiber connection to my house from my neighbors backyard (his road has the fiber line, since he permits it isp will provide a gpon to me if I pay the costs) so hopefully I will not need the old cable anymore but we will see.

Big improvements in line synch rate and no CRC’s, try not to reboot DSL-AX82U as this can cause issues with line synch rate (speed) as cabinet thinks issue with line and may increases interleaving and reduces synch rate (speed) etc. If you leave alone for a week and let us know if synch rate changes after 7 days ? Hopefully no rain in next 7 days

Hey,

The values were same for 5 days. But I had a different problem, modem restarted itself for no reason. There are some logs about the qos, I sent a feedback to asus with full logs. I’m using the adaptive qos feature. Maybe I should try the merlin for QoS:

Here are the logs:

Thanks! I’ll let you know after 7 days. I don’t think it will get affected by rain in short term, but in 6-12 months I expect it to cause some issues.

Okay they replaced the line partially, there is now patched part in the pole which can cause issues in the future due to weather conditions but my connection is vastly improved for now.

Hey, sorry for my late answer. My line was very close to the naked power lines so I told them it is a fire hazard and managed to make my isp put a new pole for my dsl line. When doing that they accidentally killed the already old and damaged cable so I’m getting no signal and waiting for them to connect a new cable to my house.

Here is my dsl settings:

I plugged in the old modem (dsl-ac52u) back just after trying the new one and it had the higher downstream rate.

Do your speed test results come out more than 32 Mbps when you use DSL-AC52U?

Yeah it was faster, but after 2 days it seems new modem is more stable so maybe my old modem was syncing at faster down stream than it should be.

After using Türk Telekom for 10 years, I switched to Türknet. I am using the same modem and the settings that I have turned off are obviously not very noticeable, so at least it is for me. I recommend you to file a complaint via BTK while your speed is already down. I struggled for years but they just changed it to VDSL. The next spine is still bad… I am using Merlin and I have adjusted my QoS settings according to my modem data and set it manually in CAKE mode. UK Sentinel

Can Bufferbloat be effective in lowering CRC?

Yeah I have some plans about how to get them to fix the line, but it will probably take months.

Sure, here is my settings. I disabled g.inp because if I enable that syncing up takes too much time on both of my modems so I disabled it.

Hey,

Yeah, I have lot of CRC errors, currently I can’t fix it because it is related to the lines on poles and my isp is refusing to fix it and I don’t have authority to replace the line on the poles. The lines are also very close to the naked electric lines, currently I’m trying to force them to move the line.

On ac52u: Snr margin: 8, line att: 15.1, max rate: 56000, current rate: 42000
On ax82u: Snr margin: 8, line att: 23.6, max rate: 33000, current rate: 35000

Also I was enabling g.vector and non-standard g.vector on my old modem but ax82u lack those settings in dsl tweaking.

Hey guys,

I just purchased dsl-ax82u, its on the latest stable firmware 3.0.0.4.386_49608. I had dsl-ac52u before. I have a very noisy and unstable connection so I thought having a modem with a broadcom chipset might help.

I live in Turkey, so the standard here is annex a, which is my old dsl-ac52u was using. But on dsl-ax82u it sync ups with annex b and there is no way to change it. Also my dsl speed is worse when compared to my old modem, not sure if this is related to the annex thing. I sent a feedback to Asus but I wonder is there any workaround for this?

Thanks!
