I sure will update, as I expect other UK owners will soon be migrating to Gfast as it gets rolled out across the UK exchanges.
Kit hasnt arrived yet and the switch over isnt until the 2nd week in December but I expect it to be an external modem as it states the home hub will be delivered and a openreach engineer will come to install my new line. Which I suspect will be a new face plate & external modem.
My thoughts/preference is to use the TalkTalk modem connected to my WAN port on my 88U.
Only fly in the ointment maybe that TalkTalk have started to conceal my usr/passwd in their supplied equipment as Sl<y do.
In the UK it seams to be that more & more ISPs insist on their equipment only to be used to enable them easy access for the fault finding purposes

PS: I dont beleive in the tooth fairy

@Sentinel.
Yeah, I also miss the ASUStech forum. It was great the report bugs directly back to ASUS for gurus. It made a refreashing change for the views and findings of the beta testing consumer to be not only heard but acted upon. For me it was a major feather in ASUS cap

I thought the external openreach external modem plugged into the WAN port ?
If im wrong, can you please advise which would be the best configuration/hardware set up to keep my exisiting OpenVPN server & OpenVPN client settings in effect with the least amount of trouble after my migration from BT.

Ive not been active since the old support forum closed.
To echo UK Sentinel, Version 1.10.05_Build503 is very stable. Hence why I have not been around for over 2yrs.
I was in direct contact with Paul Lee & Sam Wen when to DSL-AC88U was first released as I identified bugs with the VPN server and was also suffering Wifi drop outs.
I only revisted today as im about to move ISP from VDSL to WAN and thought I better have a look around to see if any WAN issues exsisted in my firmware.
Disappointed to see ASUS have already dropped support for this model so I guess im going to have go it alone this time with the help of other forum members.
Has anyone got their WAN port connected to a BT modem so I can be aware of any common problems/issues ?
Im moving from BT VDSL to TalkTalk Gfast fibre, hence having to move to the WAN port.
