I want to plug Apple TV hdmi into a box then it splits video to a hdmi socket to plug into tv and splits audio to another hdmi socket to plug into soundbar.

Yeah I can do the same on mine with it’s remote, but to enable the optical input I have to switch off the Panasonic viera link option.

And my TV is set to sound bar and turns the sound bar on when the TV turns on.

It sounds better than Bluetooth, but then I loose HDR10+ and Dolby Vision visuals.

yeah it has an optical output.  But I think I would have to disable certain settings in sound bar every time to enable optical input to work.

 

Thats why I thought if I get a switch that has an HDMI audio output I could have all sound and visual formats on all devices.

Yeah I did look at HD Fury.

My TV does have ARC just not eARC.

Sky Q > TV HDMI 1

Sound bar > TV HDMI 2 (ARC HDMI)

XBox one X > TV HDMI 3

HDMI Switch to TV HDMI 4

Apple 4K TV > HDMI Switch

Blu-Ray player HDMI TV out > HDMI Switch  (for visuals)

Blu-Ray player HDMI Audio out > Sound bar (for audio)

Amazon 4K Stick > HDMI Switch

 

connected Apple 4K TV via Bluetooth to sound bar, not sure of the sound output but it did not sound as good.

Yeah the TV is amazing, it does Dolby vision, hdr, hdr 10 and 10+ and Dolby Atom etc.  It’s the sound bar pass through that has let the setup down.

I made a boo boo buying this one with my new tv, I did not realise it did not pass HDR10+ and Dolby vision until a couple months after I bought it 

its a Panasonic SC-HTB700.

Hell yeah.  The colours are awesome

The software version needed is – Q112.000.21.00L (53wk8j8), I just manually updated it via settings.

Content is limited at the moment and only via on demand, quote from sky website –

“As part of the new Sky Nature channel launch we are excited to reveal the new on demand HDR shows, Gangs of Lemur Island, Pridelands: Wilderness Reborn and Malawi Wildlife Rescue.

You will be able to search for these shows or find them in the Ultra HD rails and sections within Sky Q Home and On Demand.
