That is good to understand, @emrahgoktas has had good results from changing MTU to 1452 which can help to reduce CRC also. Does the CRC bursts happen at certain times of the day ?
I’ll try that. And still I want to try the AM radio test but it is really difficult to find these days :D
I don’t know when these bursts happen because I only check CRC daily. If there is a way to get a time-series graph of CRC numbers, that would be great to see that. Even if I could get number of crc errors and time as a numeric data that would be fine. Do you know if there are any ways of getting this kind of logging information from this modem?
cmd ping google.com -f -l 1492 ping google.com -f -l 1482 ping google.com -f -l 1472 mtu i’m okay ping google.com -f -l 1452+28 =1480 1452 in ps5 network settings crc right now I’m not having a problem with the question, I’m getting 60 crc errors daily It is more stable now, but the snr settings must be given exactly the right setting. 1-2-3 adjustment is up and down, but it should be tried, unfortunately, it does not work properly.
When you use the ping like this, what parameter are you checking out to understand the correct MTU setting? I’ve tried SNR margin settings, if I don’t set it, I get around 9 db with 100 mbps, I’ve tried the new firmwares default, 15 db and got 80 mbps but that didn’t change CRC errors at all. Right now I’m using 11 db with 95 mbps.

I’ve done several runs using different settings with firmware 960. I couldn’t find any correlation between SNR margin setting and number of CRC errors. I’ve bought a VDSL splitter to try it out, but it also didn’t affect the frequency of CRC errors.
One interesting thing I’ve noticed though, most of the time it goes around 2.5 min/CRC but there are spikes at the number of CRC errors at certain times (and I don’t know when they are happening). It doesn’t lose connection, but probably it is the reason why sometimes streaming services get stuck and then continues without any issues.
I think I should try with another VDSL modem to see that if this issue is really related with the modem or the VDSL line.
One thing to add, if you are using VDSL/ADSL (which you are, since we are all using the same VDSL modem :)) TurkNet uses the same infrastructure with Turk Telekom. TurkNet does not have its own VDSL infrastructure as far as I know. This is why when you complain about something, they directly reach out to Turk Telekom, because they don’t have the authority to intervene the lines.

Then, I’ve tried the suggested settings (disable everything except bitswap etc.) while keeping SNR margin as 15db. after 48 hours, CRC was around 2.5 minute/CRC which is acceptable for me.
As a last trial, I’ll use 8db as the margin to see if it helps to reduce CRC errors (so increasing my bandwidth from 80 Mbps to 100 Mbps). I will update here when I get the results.

By default, they are setting the SNR margin as 15db, and as a result, my bandwidth is around ~80mpbs now, but CRC errors are much lower now (1 minute/CRC to 5 minute/CRC). I’ll try different settings after checking the default ones for 24 hours.
edit: I’ve noticed that I forgot the update the other trials I’m doing. The disconnection log thing was about TV and PC indeed. When I completely disconnected them, I don’t see the warnings. About the AM radio test, I still couldn’t find an old AM radio but as soon as I find one, I’ll try that one as well.

LAN2 is connected to TV.
Is it just about turning off these devices? I wasn’t using internet at those hours so I don’t know if the DSL link was down or not.

I just see them on the log, so I don’t know when they are happening. I’ll do the radio test though, to detect if there are any faulty devices around. Do you think a DSL splitter would help something like this, or there are other types of filters that might work for these kind of errors?

It is around 0.5 CRC/min but sometimes there are spikes, so the CRC errors go sky high for a minute and then 0.5CRC/min again.
It doesn’t need a reset to keep the speed though.

Around one day, CRC errors go mad, and the internet slows down (90 mbit/s to 8 mbit/s). I’m trying different DSL connection settings now.
On the other hand, I’ve contacted with ASUS, they forwarded me to local ASUS service. After getting some log files from me, they’ve decided that they need to see the modem. The downside is, I’m working from home and If I send the modem, I won’t have a replacement, which means 20 business days of no internet.

I did an hard reset, but didn’t change any settings. CRC got worse (attached). Could you tell me what do you mean by getting everything closed except bitswap? Should I disable every dsl settings to make it work?
@UK Sentinel If I can find a dsl filter at home (I know I have one in somewhere in home) I’ll try it. But I don’t have any motors or lamps that can cause interference near the modem.

Hi guys, I am using DSL AC-750 with 790 firmware. I dont have any problems but Asus has to release a new official firmware. Latest official firmware is very buggy so many customers have problems.
you can use 959beta. This is perfectHello, I’ve got a few questions:
First, you’ve mentioned that 959 is not working so well, but now you are saying that it is perfect. Could you share your new settings? Because I also have tried 959 and got 1 CRC error per minute.
The second question is a little bit more naive. I wasn’t even aware that I was having CRC errors because I don’t have disconnection problems. But when I’ve checked, it is suggested that even having a few CRC errors is not acceptable, let alone 1 CRC per minute. Can someone elaborate on this one?
@UKSentinel, Thank you for still providing us with beta firmwares and keeping us updated with ASUS.
