Hi guys, I am using DSL AC-750 with 790 firmware. I dont have any problems but Asus has to release a new official firmware. Latest official firmware is very buggy so many customers have problems.
you can use 959beta. This is perfect

Hello, I’ve got a few questions:

First, you’ve mentioned that 959 is not working so well, but now you are saying that it is perfect. Could you share your new settings? Because I also have tried 959 and got 1 CRC error per minute.

The second question is a little bit more naive. I wasn’t even aware that I was having CRC errors because I don’t have disconnection problems. But when I’ve checked, it is suggested that even having a few CRC errors is not acceptable, let alone 1 CRC per minute. Can someone elaborate on this one?

@UKSentinel, Thank you for still providing us with beta firmwares and keeping us updated with ASUS.

Hopefully @TSuNaMi will advise also, but thought I would add my views on CRC also.

The ASUS DSL-AC51 etc. use a DSL chipset (MediaTeK)  that are not ideal on Long on noisy DSL lines, so these types of Modems / routers are more likely to suffer from CRC’s etc.

Secondly, one CRC per minute even no not idea, but not really that bad unless this effects the internet service you are using (VPN – Gaming etc.) very likely you will not notice this CRC issue

Broadcom based DSL modems offer better DSL stability, less stability, so maybe an option of your current ASUS modem is causing you to worry ?

@UK Sentinel Even though I mainly play games or watch streaming services, CRC does not disturb my games. I don’t have any disconnection problems or sudden high pings etc. Still, I’m curious about the reason for this CRC, and if I can, I prefer to remove it.

    @Invisible
I’m attaching my DSL log and DSL settings.

CRC (Uncorrected Errors) are usually caused by Induced Noise on the DSL lines. The noise can be from a large motor, fluorescent lights, adjacent DSL lines

Try adding a DSL line filter to see if this helps and CRC’s can be DSL line related. i.e. being old or in poor condition also ;)

you must close all settings (not bitswap) from DSL Config area.. or you must do hard reset to modem.

I did an hard reset, but didn’t change any settings. CRC got worse (attached). Could you tell me what do you mean by getting everything closed except bitswap? Should I disable every dsl settings to make it work?

@UK Sentinel If I can find a dsl filter at home (I know I have one in somewhere in home) I’ll try it. But I don’t have any motors or lamps that can cause interference near the modem.

An update: After doing the factory reset, I’ve noticed that my connection stability is much worse. Around one day, CRC errors go mad, and the internet slows down (90 mbit/s to 8 mbit/s). I’m trying different DSL connection settings now.

On the other hand, I’ve contacted with ASUS, they forwarded me to local ASUS service. After getting some log files from me, they’ve decided that they need to see the modem. The downside is, I’m working from home and If I send the modem, I won’t have a replacement, which means 20 business days of no internet.

This is what I’ve tried this morning. Before that, I’ve used the same settings that you’ve shared a few pages ago for version 805.

If I could not work with 959, I think I’ll try 805 again with your settings.

After doing the settings, this is the current status.

It is around 0.5 CRC/min but sometimes there are spikes, so the CRC errors go sky high for a minute and then 0.5CRC/min again.

It doesn’t need a reset to keep the speed though.

Are CRC bursts at certain times of the day, or every 20 minutes etc. maybe a SHINE issue ?
