If the issue cannot be resolved with different modem settings, then you might want to look into:

• contacting your ISP to do a line check. (like Sentinel said few posts back)
• use other modem (which you already do)
• repair the Asus DSL-N16 if possible. Clean the circuit board with compressed air and check the RJ11 terminals for damage / corrosion.

You could try to set the Asus on Annex A , same as the TP-Link as it is on Annex M now. Maybe worth a try.

Goto Administration > DSL Setting >

G.INP (G.998.4) : Disabled (Your exchange doesnt seem to support it ?)

SRA (Seamless Rate Adaptation) : Enabled

Rx AGC GAIN Adjustment: Stable

ESNP – Enhanced Sudden Noise Protection: Stable

Also;

If you still have a filter (line splitter) between your modem and phone socket , remove that and unplug all phones (if any)

But as far as I know, as long as the provider doesn’t change the Path mode

The DLM  will change your line settings to give you the optimum speed / stability depending on line quality. At least that is how it should work.

Thanks for the Spectrum Graph. You have 4 severe drops and 1 minor drop, which indicates there is a lot of interference (noise) going on on your line.

Since you’re on fast path (on the asus at least) this will cause packet loss / errors. With a line of  that quality i am actually surprised that DLM didn’t put you on interleaved.
Try and see if you can stabilize your line , start with -5 dB in Administration > DSL Setting >ADSL Settings > Stability Adjustment.
Dynamic Line Adjustment (DLA) Disabled.

Turn on G.INP if your exchange supports it.

Also what are your sync speeds ? DSL-N16 = 21184 kbps/ TD-W9970 V2 = ?

hi , i use lastet firmware (DSL-AC51_1.1.2.3_743-gf5b4545) on Asus Dsl Ac51

but ram is always low and modem And the modem sometimes freezes

Have the same router and no freezes yet. Free RAM fluctuates between 4 MB – 10 MB free. Max 93% RAM in use.

What I did notice are the following quirks;

Router throughput WAN>LAN fluctuates between 50MBit/s – 75 Mbit/s . Only once I saw 95 Mbit/s which is close enough to the actual Fast Ethernet LAN ports on this router.
Toggling the radio ON/OFF by designating the WPS button to it causes irregular behavior. Sometimes the radio wont turn ON or OFF, or only the 2.4 Ghz radio and so forth. Seems you have to press > 10 seconds for stable behavior.
When you turn OFF the 5 Ghz radio through the WEB_ui and power cycle the router. The 2.4 Ghz radio and the 5 Ghz radio wont turn ON any more. So then you need to connect the LAN cable to get into the WEB_ui again ;-(
Have not experienced modem freeze yet, but its still early days for me.
