So, which is the best option for replacing the ADSL-AC3100 modem? The RT-AC3100 router or the old RT-AC86U?

Does anyone know if the RT-AC3100 router has the same problems as the DSL-AC3100 modem?

Yes, I’m having much fun!

I brought it new in Australia, and I’m using it in Brasil. And the worst thing for me is that the Amazon return period has passed, and it does not pay to send it to Asus. I thought it would be a great buy, as I always relied on the Asus routers. I did not realize that there were so many problems with the modem.

As there seems to be a flaw in the equipment and as I have friends going to Australia tomorrow, trying to trade it for the RT-AC3100 would be a good option as I could use merlin firmware instead of Asus, or the best option, in case I could replace it, would be replace it with an RT-AC86U?

Hello,
I’m turning to this forum as a last hope to try to make the DSL-AC3100 work.
I got the modem in late December and it worked perfectly for 3 days, although slow with AIprotection and VPN client enabled. After that period the wifi led 5g went off and 2.4, although lit it does not work, it does not even appear in the wifi list.

I’ve tried everything, standard reset, firware update, firmare reinstallation of the first available on the Asus website, nothing I do makes the wife work.

I’ve tried all the options discussed in this forum as well.

Any suggestion?
My connection is Vdsl 50/10. Brazil.
