January 11, 2019 at 3:31 pm #1937Alas that does seem the best option, as you have factory reset and build from scratch, then a Hardware Fault is most likely if wifi issue remains? That router is doing a lot of AirMilesYes, yes much more AirMiles than wifi time …So, which is the best option for replacing the ADSL-AC3100 modem? The RT-AC3100 router or the old RT-AC86U? Does anyone know if the RT-AC3100 router has the same problems as the DSL-AC3100 modem? Thank you.I understand the RT-AC86U is a good unit and has a faster CPU than the RT-Ac3100, but unsure of the history of the RT-AC3100

Hi UK Sentinel, any chance you can share the same with me? It is fine if you are not comfortable doing that.

January 11, 2019 at 9:15 pm #1940Hello guys.
I have been lurking around here for a few weeks.
I bought a DSL-AC88U-B recently, because the DSL-N55U served me so well. Unintentionally got an Annex B because seller lacked information; luckily it works with VDSL2+ regardless of my annex type.
Anyway, I definitely expected to get telnet access to this router, because so many have the ability and this FAQ does not exclude any.I was really disappointed to discover that telnet access is not possible out of the box and I have read that a debug firmware is required for it. I have contacted Asus support but they did not want to give me any.
So does anybody here has a DSL-AC88U-B debug firmware with the ability to enable telnet? If so could you send it to me? That would definitely make my purchase unregrettable and I would happily return a favour.
Thank you!

I will ask ASUS for you and see if I can also obtain the DSL-AC88U – B version unlocked
Hope that helps?
