and bought a seperate modem when i moved .
was using merlin on that one and it was stable af .Then i got this when it came out and nothing but issues .was hoping to be able to set this over to ap mode like on the rt models when i get a proper pfsense box like the vault .
on a seperate question any one know how the draytek 167 stacks up as a router not for wifi only the dhcp part ?and then just double nat wifi stuff for now so i only lose wifi when it locks up

March 14, 2022 at 7:55 am #18265Can purchase an  RT-AC68U on Ebay for around £50
I read the 167 is actually using a MediaTeK chipset (EcoNet EN7556N) , and have seen early reports that stability is a concern for some at higher synch rates.
Shame they seem to have moved away from Broadcom/Lantiq DSL chipsets

March 14, 2022 at 9:33 am #18267Hard to judge as MediaTeK track record in the modem world has not been positive.
There is the ZyXEL VMG3006-D70A VDSL2 which uses a Lantiq PXB 4389-720 chipset and supports SuperVectoring and seems feedback is positive .

unsure regarding language options etc, but maybe worth a look ?

March 14, 2022 at 3:49 pm #18271I didn’t realise, at least that explains why you are thinking of the unifi ap ax as the DSL-AC88U is not up-gradable Â
