The beta 46980 has been rock solid for me the whole week even with multiple Teams calls. Hopefully it stays like this.

    Would make a pleasant change

As a beta, does this mean some features are disabled as with previous releases?

As this is now an official beta, all features are enabled like parental control.  This is why I am continuing to use it.  It is really good for me, there are many posts stating issues with IoT are mostly resolved on this beta.  I cannot comment as I do not have any IoT connected to it.

    Excellent. I’ll try it now.

Were you on 46061?  If so, did you experience any issues at all?  For me both 46061 and this beta 46980 are very stable.

First off I just wanted to say thank you so much to everyone involved in this thread (UK Sentinel, dodgydrains, Jonathan, etc).  I just read through all 33 pages as I am having a similar problem with my XT8 and was looking for some help.

I have a similar issue, but it’s a little different, and a bit strange.  When using Teams its not a short 5-10 second blip like what some others are describing.  It actually takes the entire network down for 30 seconds to a minute for all of the devices in the house.  It almost looks like the router is restarting.  If I am not using Teams I can run a 4+ hour ping test and everything works great.

Right now I am using 46061 however I would like to give 42095 a chance to see if it helps with my issues.  I looked at the ASUS website and it appears as though they have removed it.  Does anyone have a reputable place to download the file from?

Welcome, if @Dodgydrains or others are unable to share, I can ask ASUS for a copy

Just make sure your XT8 was made before 2022 in order to use 42095 as they (ASUS) have changed the wifi chipsets .

Thank you very much for the welcome. I purchased them in 2021 so we should be good on that one.

Thank you very much for these downloaded and will probably be applying after work tonight.

@Incision Have you tried the beta 46980 at all?  If all fails, send feedback to Asus with logs.  It took them a while to fix my issue, but sorted in the end.

@UKSentinel, I have an archive of the XT8 firmware’s on my hard drive.  I am happy to share with you if you want.

I haven’t tried the newest beta yet, but I am also in the process of testing a couple of things to troubleshoot, so I can add that prior to reverting back.  I’d prefer to have later versions with the security fixes, but I was completely losing connection multiple times in a day and losing my meetings and RDP sessions.

Last night I turned off the AiProtect and I have turned off my work VPN prior to my teams calls and everything has been rock solid today.  Next thing ill be doing tomorrow is to leave the AI protect off but getting back on VPN and see where that gets me.

Also, thanks to @grisu and his link I was able to find the file directly on ASUS website:

Hi This is my first post as I had recently ordered the XT8 as our Linksys Velop wasn’t AX. I was a little bit concerned about previous issues with Microsoft teams but installed the Beta Version 9.0.0.4.386.46980 and happy to report that there have been no issues with Microsoft teams, both me and my partner work from home with multiple teams sessions with video and screen sharing and it has worked flawlessly.

We have just the one hub with QOS and AiProtection off and can’t fault it.We are due to get BT FTTP installed in a few weeks so I am hoping it will be fine with PPPOE.

Welcome and great to hear that Beta Version 9.0.0.4.386.46980 is working well with your Teams calls

Do yourself a favour a keep a copy of this firmware release somewhere safe, just incase you need it again in the future to fall back to

Totally agree, the beta 46980 FW is the best I have tested so far.  If I have issues with Asuswrt-Merlin then I will also revert to beta 46980.
