The definition is LAST sunday in month and so you should set both to 5th as this means ‘last’ in Asus-diction (if there are only 4 sundays this year it will use it too).

I have been confused of “hours” when it means time and not difference to GMT (eddited my previous post too).

Time for change is 2 o’clock in spring (where it is jumping to 3) and 3 o’clock in authum (when it jumps back to 2 o’clock wintertime).
And for both use 5th sunday to work correct in every year (ether in months with 4 or 5 sundays)!

Looks like the firmware downoad page is missing on the Asus website for the XT8 for a week or more now.

Is it just me, or same for everyone?

A slight quirk. XT8 doesn’t appear in the support / search via model either.

    But????

If you follow the route of Asus web site > My Account > My product(s)

The XT8 driver & tools tab, it links correctly to the firmware page????

So if you didn’t register it when purchased❗️you still won’t see it ????

Now if I only knew someone with a AX82U & has it registered? ????

    Tom…

So ASUS have come back and say the site should be back within the next couple of days as it is currently being updated.

Quick link if anybody needs access to the ASUS ZenWiFi AX (XT8) downloads

Just check and the ‘Support’ tab option is back for the ASUS XT8:

But still not showing for the UK site:

Back in March, I picked up a Mikrotik AX2 as a test/secondary and travel router. It’s been great, rock solid, constantly updated and a nice, modern, yet inexpensive intro to RouterOS.

Now, my transition to Mikrotik has entered the next stage, with a Mikrotik RB5009UPr+S+IN set up as my new primary router.

The RB5009UPr+S+IN is the all-port POE In/Out RB5009 version, with one SFP+, one 2.5 gigabit and seven gigabit ports, that allow for simultaneous powering of the device, via two DC inputs and/or any of the POE ports. It’s a beast, and a nice looking piece of industrial design.

I’m not ready to move to dedicated APs, so I’ve switched my XT8s to AP AiMesh mode and have the primary XT8 ethernet connected to the RB5009. This process is very straightforward and the XT8 GUI walks you through confirming your existing wireless settings.

My plan is to keep the XT8s running as APs for the foreseeable future, so I’ll update this thread with any quirks or issues that I encounter.

That is great news as the RB5009UPr+S+IN  is a beast of a unit and at a fair price

As you know, we do have a dedicated ‘Mikrotik & Wireless’ forum so feel free to post there also

    Yep, will do.

This was a wordy intro to running XT8s in AP mode, as it appears that XT8 software development is winding down and folks may be thinking about moving to a new primary router.

24 hours later and AP mode XT8s seem to be running well, with a few AP settings and device connection quirks.

    I normally configure 2.4/5GHz-1 as WPA2/WPA3 and 5GHz-2 as WPA3.

The transition from router to AP mode reset wireless encryption to WPA2 only, which caused some prompts for re-authentication, and one WiFi6 laptop wasn’t stable on the wireless until network was forgotten and set up again.

I noticed low transmit speed on my WiFi6 phone (and WiFi 6 laptop), which an XT8 system reboot did not resolve. In the end, I toggled 5GHz-1 Tx power adjustment, under Professional and this resolved the issue.

Resetting the XT8s and setting up from scratch is probably the best solution.
