Resetting the XT8s and setting up from scratch is probably the best solution.
Factory Resetting usually removes most of the quirks

Is this device now EOL?ย No updates from Asus for 7 months now.
i hope not…
but to their credit, the last update has been great for me.ย i think the last 3 months or so, i’ve never had any issues at all.ย only thing i do every week is to make sure to reset (by schedule) both nodes, the main and the 2nd one.ย No drop offs in speed, never had that problem anymore where the 2nd node’s wifi backhaul reverts to the slow 2.4Ghz – yellow led light.

I did contact ASUS on Tuesday to see when the next firmware for the XT8 will be released, as yet not had any feedback so will chase again early next week

2 week update on switching XT8s to AP mesh mode.
No issues to report, WiFi is rock solid and no connection/compatibility issues with Mikrotik router. Asus GUI available via local IP and mobile app.

After nearly 12 days, I have experienced no issues.ย Seems quite stable so far for my use case.

So have this morning received email from ASUS and they say no new firmware will be available before the year end for the ASUS XT8, I will keep chasing for ETA

So I have chased ASUS for the progress for the next firmware release for the ASUS ZenWifi XT8, ASUS’s reply below which is positive.
