The UKTechHub main forum page is loading / refreshing slow and I am in the process of troubleshooting over the next few days.
As a result, some aspects of the forum may appear different / not working as a result.

January 5, 2024 at 9:53 am #28884Now (at the moment) main-forum page is much faster again.
But style is very small and hard to read compared to before (or just an optical illusion).

January 5, 2024 at 10:26 am #28887Yes, I found the problem, it is associated with the plugin that enables me to style the forum and web-pages etc.
So I had to factory reset (sort off) rebuild from scratch and am currently re-styling website forum and then find a way of making it work quicker.
At least I now know what the issue is causing forum main page to load slowly, just hope I can find a way to fix it also.
Such fun!

I have hopefully brought the Forum back to a good working state and have shaved around 1 second of the page load times, initially page load time was around 3.5 – 4 seconds and now loads in around 2.5 seconds.
Have used new (smaller) forum icons to help with page load speeds and plan to optimise further over the weekend.
If you notice any functionality (that was there previously) missing, please do let me know

January 6, 2024 at 3:55 pm #28930So have fixed the Recent Posts issue and have managed to reduce the Main forum page loading to 2.5 seconds on averidge.
Note:Â All other pages load quickly.
Will keep looking at this page load slowness, just need a do some research.
Feel free to test functionality and UKTechHub is usable, thank your all for your patience, as always.

January 6, 2024 at 9:52 pm #28940January 14, 2024 at 12:42 pm #29100So have finished (I think) optimising the forum and site – I have chosen a new option which should make the pages react slightly quicker.
The main Forums page is still a little slower, but until I upgrade server hardware etc. there is little more I can do currently.

January 14, 2024 at 7:05 pm #29108Something seems to went wrong (at least for me).
After viewing “new” threads it will still be shown marked as new even after refreshing the site.
Seen this first time today (right now). You need to login in order to vote
January 14, 2024 at 7:51 pm #29116Now some time later new marking has gone, but problem still ongoing, as a new thread shows same symptoms.
Seems that the refresh needs much too long time to remove “new” (not seconds but maybe a minute).
Overall I have the feeling (maybe I am wrong) that all pages are noticeable slower than last year, now about 3s.
But not really a problem! You need to login in order to vote
