i’ve activated Adaptive QOS and ‘Learn from Home’ setting : this afternoon I have several teams calls. Let’s see if this setting resolves the problem.

update: with or without VPN, i’ve experienced the dropouts of about 5 seconds during team meetings. So, VPN isn’t the cause of the dropouts.

@UK Sentinel: Yes, indeed, with firmware 42095, there were no issues at all with Teams calls through office VPN (F5 big-ip Edge Client).

I’ve got a couple of teams meetings this afternoon. i’ll cut my VPN, and do the Teams meetings without VPN. See if it makes any difference. Keep you informed…

Here’s my feedback after +/ 2 weeks with the new firmware :

First of all, after installing, I did a factory reset (via the WPS button procedure), and reconfigured the whole thing.

Findings :

• Video streaming from nas (nas -> asus satelite -> PC) : no more issues : so this is really positive!
• Remote desktop sessions : stable, no interruptions, so far so good.
• BUT : Teams : almost with every teams meeting, I’ve been experiencing regular interruptions of about 5 seconds. After this period, connection is re-established. Those interruptions occur while laptop is connected via wifi to satelite of via Ethernet cable to satelite. So, please ASUS : fix this! (connection to internet is via Office VPN)
  On the other side : When my wife is ‘homeworking’, her laptop (wireless connection) is connected to the base station, and she uses skype for calls and doesn’t complain about any interruptions.

“Yes but no” : tried that last time. took a while to set things right again… with same result… so, staying with 42095 for now… any other volunteers willing to try ?

ok, i’ve installed the new firmware : thanks for the heads-up.

great to hear I’m not alone : same here : v 42095 rock solid.

What I’ve mentionned a couple of months ago :

firmware 42095 : about 72.5 mb

all above 42095 : about 55 mb

what did Asus cut out?

On what firmware are you? For me, Teams issues arose after upgrade from 42095 firmware to newer versions.

The only firmware without problems today is still 42095 (for me at least).

Try to revert back to 42095.

tried latest official 45934. unfortunately, the usuall problems arise again : teams interruptions, RDP sessions disconnects…

back on ‘safe’ 42095 again, because with beta 46197, I experienced crashes after a couple of days of stability -> needed to completely reboot.

had a teams call via Office laptop, connected through vpn this morning that took about 2 hours : no interruptions whatsoever.

yesterday did some streaming video from nas : no interruptions whatsoever.

same with remote desktop sessions : no trouble.

Conclusion : if Asus finalizes this beta into a new official release, all would be good!! I would (finally) be a happy customer :-)

seems we have a winner with this latest beta : been testing a few hours now : video streaming rock solid until now (even 4k), remote desktop same (no freezes), not able to do Teams testing yet, but will do next week.

will stay on this beta :-)

Hi all,

I will install the beta this evening. Working at home tomorrow and some teams meetings planned.

@Dodgydrains : what I was wondering about : when you do teams meetings, is your laptop connected to the satelite stations or the base station? Are you connecting through a vpn or not?

 

For my situation : doing teams, while Office laptop is wifi-connected with the Asus satelite station (upstairs office/bedroom) and laptop is connected with office VPN . With previous firmwares (except 42095) I experienced dropouts with teams and remote desktop sessions.
