September 9, 2022 at 7:01 pm #20798Hi, answer to “SL”:
just use any of these IP Phones:
https://www.gigaset.com/hq_en/gigaset-comfort-500a-ip-flex/
https://www.gigaset.com/hq_en/gigaset-comfort-550a-ip-flex/
it will work with any routers without inbuilt telephone socket, just plug into free RJ45 jack and setup your provider.

you don’t even need an IP Phone, I have just tested Zoiper app (this is the best, but there are similar apps) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zoiper.android.app&hl=en
I setup my provider’s sip account and it’s working like a charm with my DSL-AX82U Modem Router over Wi-Fi on my Smart Phone, no delays whatsoever, working in background and much more features like security…

September 13, 2022 at 7:20 am #20841Do you think Asus will release a router with this phone socket built in before 2025 ??
Ok, so have had a chat with ASUS and they do not offer and have no plans to introduce Routers that supports phone RJ11 connectors and/or BT plug type socket (BT Plug)
ASUS are DECT and plan to stay that way

September 13, 2022 at 8:01 pm #20845OK, the question then, after answer from ASUS “ASUS are DECT and plan to stay that way” when the next generation “AX” modem router with DECT like DSL-AC68VG will be available? One want to have modem router with built-in DECT Phone.
Thank you

September 13, 2022 at 8:38 pm #20846I would assume the days of DSL Modem/Router combos and new units is coming to an end as FTTP/H is the new way forward.
But I will ask ASUS regarding DSL and DECT

September 21, 2022 at 10:22 am #20953This is going to sound like a rather dumb question. But is that VPN support for running your own VPN or will it allow you to utilise another VPN service such as NordVPN directly from your router?
Edit: ignore me, i’ve just discovered the router already supports this. Can’t believe I didn’t check before.
