I have 2 SSID on the 5GHz-1 network.ย One of which is the Guest network and the other is normal SSID.
Are you saying I can Enable wireless scheduler on the Guest network SSID on 5GHz-1 only and leave the other 5GHz-1 SSID to be active always?
If so, that would be amazing for my use case.
Essentially, my question is can you pick a specific SSID to Enable wireless scheduler?

October 16, 2023 at 6:36 am #27541No, in essence the two SSIDs on the 5GHz-1 network/band will be controllable together (as one) via wireless scheduler.
wireless scheduler cannot control individual SSID, only Network bands and all SSID including any Guest SSID on that band will be treated as one via wireless scheduler.
I will have a look online incase there is a custom script/cron job which is not my thing, but this may mean you need to install ASUSWRT-Merlin (@GNUton) etc. and I can have a chat with ASUS if this helps?
Note: unsure if Smart Connect is enabled, but by disabling it you will be able to see individual SSID’s for both your 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands as well as your guest wifi SSID.

October 19, 2023 at 4:06 pm #27626So ASUS have got back to me (below) regarding the ASUS XT8 and Time Scheduling for Guest Wifi and does seem as though only an option supported in there range of ‘PRO’ routers.
i.e. (at a guess)
- RT-AX86U Pro, RT-AX88U Pro
- GT-AX11000 Pro, GT-AXE16000, GT-AX6000
- ZenWiFi_Pro_ET12, ZenWiFi_Pro_XT12
- ExpertWiFi Series
——-
This feature is supported in Guest Network Pro / Self-defined Network with 3.0.0.6 firmware.
However, not plan to release 3.0.0.6 firmware for XT8.

Any ideas if Merlin can port this feature to the XT8?

October 20, 2023 at 7:25 am #27642ASUS did seem to imply it was more a firmware limitation than hardware for the XT8, so I would assume it is more a case if this is on RMerlin’s radar for future integration into mainstream devices for ASUSWRT-Merlin which I doubt as he is a busy chap.

October 20, 2023 at 8:59 am #27643As gnuton supports the xt8, hopefully he can integrate this feature.
