March 19, 2025 at 7:02 am #36040Great news and thank you for sharing

FWIW: some of the newer firmware releases across a range of ASUS routers are causing issues with IOT devices not reconnecting after upgrade, seems newer firmwares are changing Authentication Method to โWPA2/WPA3-Personalโ for all Wi-Fi bands rather than what they where set to previously.

The log message is telling us that the “lighttpd” command has crashed.
Lighttpd is a lightweight and efficient web server that is configured on ASUS routers running AiCloud I believe.
It does seem to be happening a lot looking at your logs and is a fairly common problem, have you noticed any changes, are you using AiCloud ?

March 20, 2025 at 8:50 am #36082I tried logging in via AiCloud and it wouldn’t let me in with my credentials, so I deregistered and re-registered successfully with a new DDNS name. The top box under Network Map is showing “Internet Status Connected” with the newly registered DDNS name and the Let’s Encrypt Server Certificate showing as Active (with the same DDNS name), but when I try to login via the web browser I get the “Hmmmโฆ can’t reach this page” ?

March 20, 2025 at 8:54 am #36083I’ve just power cycled the router and I now have web access via the DDNS, but it’s not accepting my login credentials.

March 20, 2025 at 3:42 pm #36090I have just rebooted my Virgin Media MoDem and it looks as if that’s fixed the connection issue, but I’m still getting the ย lighttpd Tainted reported in the system log.

March 20, 2025 at 3:46 pm #36091Great news, was you using AiCloud / DDNS before the firmware upgrade ?
Being cheeky, is it possible to disable DDNS and/or AiCloud to see if lighttpd Tainted error messages remains ?
In reality, as long as these services are working and you are not experiencing any issues, it is an issue only ASUS can fix and I can then let them know.

March 20, 2025 at 10:34 pm #36147Sorry I should have given you a straight answer before. No I hadn’t used AiCloud / DDNS before the firmware upgrade, but I had noticed the lighttpd Tainted error messages in previous versions, but didn’t really take much notice because they were very few and far between. However, since this upgrade, my system log has been full of them, there are over 100 occurrences in the log since 09:00 this morning.
I’ll disable the DDNS and AiCloud, clear the system log and get back to you with the results.

March 21, 2025 at 8:10 am #36148Good news so far. I disabled my AiCloud but left the DDNS enabled and I’ve not had one lighttpd Tainted error message yet.
