you can use Ping plotter and ping your ISP gateway IP or any local site ( if it accept ICMP pings )Β to monitor your connection over time ……. to see errors or packet drops or sudden spikes in ping on hoops
your modem is in bridge mode or modem is dialing the connection ?
way back i used to have issue on my VMG1312-B10A … where enabling SRA used to … give sudden burst in CRC than connection re-synchs and disabling it fix the issue ………… but not sure if SRA is used there or not

Edit: I see βStatic IPβ Stock ASUSWRT does not and most likely never will offer this option, RMerlin (ASUSWRT-Merlin) does offer this and mine (RT-AC86U β ASUSWRT-Merlin) is set to 1500 also for Static or Dynamic IP running a dual ipv4 /v6 stack π or via Telnet/SSH try the cmd ( ifconfig eth0 mtu 1472 ) remove brackets and see if this helps ? a reboot will remove this value, but good for testing on standard ASUSWRT. Or if you are you getting fragmentation try the following from PC: ping [site] -f -l 1472 and change value until you stop receiving the Fragmentation error message (then add + 28 for final MTU Value for PPPoE Connection on router). Hopefully CMDs will work but ASUSWRT underlying language is always changing between models ;-( https://asuswrt.lostrealm.ca
Hey Thank’s , I’m trying ASUSWRT-Merlin Firmware ………………. lets see how its goes ……

default MTU used on ISP Modem for IPv6 is 1472 …, that’s why i was asking if there is any way to optimize IPv6 MTU .
i wonder if ASUS could add this option to change MTU value in IPv6 settings in future ?
i got AX-88U

No , i have IPv6 disabled , when i had it enabled … i used to have issue with slow browsing …even if IPv6 ICMP was reachable …….
you can try testing by disablingΒ IPv6 Firewall + allow Respond ICMP Echo (ping) Request from WAN and see if it works …………… but most likely it’s Asus firmware filtering it
i would like to ask @UK Sentinel …. is there any way to configure IPv6 MTU in GUI ? or what is the default value used for IPv6 MTU on ASUS router ?Β because some IPv6 test site show Packet too Big.

netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name=”ICMPv6 echo request” protocol=icmpv6:8,any dir=in action=allow

it’s personal opinion , but feels like it’s all related to trade war between USA and China ( i could be wrong )Β ………. if US GOV Administration gets what they want ..they will be happy i guess ? .. through Huge Loss forΒ huawei ……..
but i wonder ? ifΒ huawei shift brand under different name , transfer their assetsΒ and reallocate to different place/jurisdiction does it goingΒ to work for them ?

Hey,
How do you see Huawei ban ? does it going to effect products like existing routers ,modem , ISP DSLAM and other various network equipment that are supplied by Huawei ? ……. does it mean no support for existing products if bugs are found later on them from chip manufacturer ? ……..because Qualcomm and Broadcom are also planning to cut off their collaboration with Huawei

I would really choose local or international brand depending on ->Β good customer base , good after purchase customer support , and competitive pricing of items.
i can’t say about specific item …….since every company are best in some areas ….. through i have used Bosch Professional tools and many Samsung electronics ( TV,Phones ,Refrigerator, Washing Machine)Β Β they both are good … i hardly needed any after customer support …..for those items in last 15 years
i have not used anything related to Miele so i can’t say

yeah i think so it’s broken for now
.. not sure when new firmware going to release .. but i don’t think …..Netgear/Netduma will give any priority to fix ipv6 issue .. unless some ISP start giving out ipv6 only address …and many user start reaching out netgear about this issueYou need to login in order to vote
i have not tested it with QOS disabled yet to see if it works , but with QOS enabled it lagsΒ ……… i suspect ….it’s more to do with netgear implementation of IPV6 ………
also i have noticed …
that during 6to4 mode … web browser is not using IPV6 to visit website …. but lags , ( few ipv6 test website even failed to detect there is ipv6 )
but during PPPoEΒ mode (Native ipv6 address ) … web browser was using …IPV6 and it still lags
