Annex A/B to differentiate between POTS and ISDN is only related to ADSL while VDSL has other Annexes (maybe with same letters) for different purposes.

Here in Austria I could even use Annex B on POTS line, of course with little less speed (not noticeably as you only loose about 150kHz bandwith), depends on operator if he allows this in his config.

Yes, but different CRC checksums can be generated for any file with 7-zip (or other tools), no need to compress the file, so it can be posted by the creator or owner of download-share and you can verify after download.

Perfect, yes both are covered, 7.27 is only bug fix release on top of 7.25 or 7.26 without new features.
