My 7590 is stable now even with beta 68106 on DSL with vplus (supervectoring) 266m and 289Mb/s down.

Problems has been the line going down exactly the day after change to beta firmware, why I had to think it caused my troubles. Fine now since 2 weeks.

At the moment no need for official 7.10, beta seems to be the same or even newer.

I am only waiting to update 7582 on beta 57544 used in mesh, which sometimes needs a reboot now for proper band and node stearing.

Sorry, have my troubles with English.

AVM is the manufacturer of Fritz!Box which replaces now all my Asus-routers, they give 5 years warranty (not Asus).

Sorry to say but give up thinking there could ever be a Merlin-version for DSL-AC88U.

GNUton just had a look into the firmware and no chance: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/openwrt-custom-firmware-for-asus-dsl-routers.56478/

And worse – for him its more a development firmware not able to be compiled from GPL.

AFAIK AVM will give you 5 years warranty on their routers (and fw-updates).

Even without receipt based on production date, so I buy them used much cheaper.

Didn’t know it either before seen on router (twice now).

And you easily can go back to last stock firmware (didn’t test this on mine but is offered).

You have to use older beta from ftp-link in my first post and then it will be shown as firmware-update on router.

Dont have a direct download link or changelog.

today got new beta for internat. 7590: FRITZ!OS: 07.08-68106 BETA

did some restarts for testing, always synchronized at first attempt.

seems to be well done, all ok at first view.

dont know what SHINE/REIN are, long time passed to forget since I used the DSL-AC68U.

And only for about a year before I got line-upgrade.

No, got a 7582 over a year ago and 7590 last year for testing, then bought 2 more for mesh (instead of Asus equipment).

Line upgrade to Vplus 35b has been 2 years ago with ZTE289 modem.

 

All modems at all times had heavy problems with my often changed lines …

Some days or weeks almost unusable, then for weeks or even months no issues for unkown time till repeating to fail (seen all the year).

Neighours going down exactly same time (have some logs of it, very strange).

Thats why I said some mystic radiation in my area.

There is a high voltage power line nearby (100kV ~150m away), but everyone tells me that cant be the reason, I dont believe them.

Since 4 days up now except when I changed language twice and it rebooted.

But what would you think if your line is up for average a week since summer, then you make an update to a new beta and from next day on you get >>10 sync a day, not usable anymore? Everyone has to assume its the firmware. Especially if you read in other forums that some others having sync problems too with newer betas in combination with some broadcom DSLAM running on newer firmware releases too.

Now I am quite sure its again my line, nothing wrong with router DSL firmware.

they changed a lot of cards last year because of my troubles. DSLAM sits in the green, you would need a digger to get there. maybe a bad underground connector where it turns into my street, but digging would be >8k€, they wont do if it is not very claer thats the cause.

Underground: yes, but only from DSLAM to this neighbour as he needed many lines years ago for his business.
