they are copper
No, got a 7582 over a year ago and 7590 last year for testing, then bought 2 more for mesh (instead of Asus equipment).
Line upgrade to Vplus 35b has been 2 years ago with ZTE289 modem.
All modems at all times had heavy problems with my often changed lines …
Some days or weeks almost unusable, then for weeks or even months no issues for unkown time till repeating to fail (seen all the year).
Neighours going down exactly same time (have some logs of it, very strange).
Thats why I said some mystic radiation in my area.
There is a high voltage power line nearby (100kV ~150m away), but everyone tells me that cant be the reason, I dont believe them.

Since 4 days up now except when I changed language twice and it rebooted.
But what would you think if your line is up for average a week since summer, then you make an update to a new beta and from next day on you get >>10 sync a day, not usable anymore? Everyone has to assume its the firmware. Especially if you read in other forums that some others having sync problems too with newer betas in combination with some broadcom DSLAM running on newer firmware releases too.
Now I am quite sure its again my line, nothing wrong with router DSL firmware.

they changed a lot of cards last year because of my troubles. DSLAM sits in the green, you would need a digger to get there. maybe a bad underground connector where it turns into my street, but digging would be >8k€, they wont do if it is not very claer thats the cause.
Underground: yes, but only from DSLAM to this neighbour as he needed many lines years ago for his business.

yes broadcom, have line problems since ever (>10 years) with old ADSL 4MB/s and even now with >250 v-plus.
Thought its related to wet weather (often seen some relation), but last month nothing, no rain, not cold.
It comes some days/a week or longer, then some month ok – I gave up. There must be some mystical radiation in our area. But they never found anything. Even more interesting, my neighbour gets only 200Mb/s fluctuating with an about 100m (!!!) shorter line when I get upto 285 with 7590.
His line goes underground (only last 10m to his house over the street), while mine comes up at his outlet too going aerial to me (total about 270m long). How can be radiation on his line almost under the earth?

Mesh loss seems to be related to sync loss (dont know why).
Not all the time, but with that many resyncs I had and sometimes manual reboot master router once (or twice) it lost the Wifi-node and didnt reconnect.
Had to reboot node and all well again.
But never happened again last 2 weeks, somehow stabilized now (still some few sync-loss a day).
Today even 24h up with no CRC or sync, line coming back usable?

seems I blamed beta firmware too early because of timely exakt match.
Neighbour got same problems since I have them, so its not the modem or firmware, he uses different brand!

before setting it to 1 get the recent value, “0” or none “” or variable not set at all.
Then you can change back to original.
nvram get amas_force
Think it will be 0.
In case no variable set to delete you could use “nvram unset amas_force”and nvram commit to save changes.
@UK Sentinel: little correction, nothing to do with AiProtection!
This command just allows AiProtection to be visible
This command just allows AiMesh to be enabled

April 21, 2019 at 8:54 pm in reply to: any custom firmware for Asus DSL-N16 Hi everyone Is it possible to install any custom firmware to Asus DSL-N16? Asus released its latest firmware source code. GPL of ASUS DSL-N16 for firmware 1.1.2.3_617 https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/wireless/DSL-N16/GPL_DSL-N16_1123617.zip CPU1: MediaTek MT7510 ( 650... #2714Answered him already in SNB that he will got no luck, everybody now exchanges this old modemrouter.
There never has been custom firmwares for DSL-type routers.
First I’ve ever seen was about a year ago from Hugo Gomes for DSL-AC68U, but quick and dirty.
And last month Gnuton did a good job with merlin support on this very modemrouter.
Nobody will ever do it for that really old N16 with too slow CPU and poor HW. Its not able to do more computing than needed for basic functions on stock firmware.
Nice would be for the new DSL-AC88U, but due to different hardware it wont ever come too.
He can use it as modem-only (dont know if there is such a mode) and use a RT-AC86U behind for routing and everything else.
Here the answer of the boss himself: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/dsl-ac68u-asuswrt-merlin-builds-for-dsl-routers.55985/page-3#post-483627

(Thread/Topic originally created by forum... #2689Sorry, but it seems there will be no way in the next future to support DSL-AC88U with Merlin-features.
They used a very different HW-architecture for this modem-router and all the work Merlin has done cannot be ported to this model, similar situation like for ROG GT-types.
A pitty but we have to forget this project for now.
I know DSL-AC88U will be the future Asus modem with much more DSL-features for faster lines – bad news for the community.

got new beta firmware to update only for 7590 (nothing for 7582): FRITZ!OS: 07.08-67855 BETA
Get your fingers off!
Not worth, many problems now, lot of sync-loss and then even mesh loosing nodes.
DSL-driver did not change to previous beta and using older DSL-driver dont help too.
Will have to report to AVM.
I know, never touch a running system, have been too curious as last beta solved much for me …

Do you have contacts to Asus and maybe they would provide as testing unit to GNUton?
Seems he did a great job on DSL-AC68U and someone can assume he would do the same for DSL-AC88U or DSL-AC3100.

April 12, 2019 at 5:28 pm in reply to: Need stock nvram dump of DSL-AC68U Can anyone please help with the stock nvram dump for DSL-AC68U? #2650not as easy as thought, there are secret codes, unique MACs and maybe even more in NVRAM.
One would have to factory reset and edit it before sharing to you.
You could get a cheap used one on ebay or similar platforms, read NVRAM and sell it afterwards on your own.
