So router should be set to Europe where possibly could have more settings rather than Germany where are differences in regulations compare to UK. Questions in why router bought in UK region is set to Germany?
In RT router is actually 7 options to chose where one of them is Europe, but still not sure where came from Germany region settings on mine?

I got another question related WiFi on dsl-ac68u. I did play with router a little bit and and tried DFS channels, however I think the current ones are not correct for UK, where modem was bought in UK so should be for UK market. When i type in below command I got strange output?:
/ # wl country
DE (DE/982) GERMANYI found some info online where actually UK allow to have higher power output for WiFi signals (for better signal coverage) also DFS channels are different, my mobile report channels(DFS) 149, 153, 157, 161. Router DFS channels are: 52,56,60,100,104,108,112,116,132,136,140. Clearly will be difficult to match devices DFS channel to asus channels…
To @UK Sentinel
Do you know if ASUS can implement option in wifi setting (they did on some other routers) to allow change region setting for correct ones? Maybe worth to add to wish list

Asus clearly have no idea what it’s mean “customer support”!!!Of course we all appreciate help and effort from @UK Sentinel, but how one man can force company like Asus where they already got all info and feedback from first hand, they just don’t listen…
Looks like they need serious drop on sales to understand where is the problem.

By focusing on polishing g.fast they not necessary do better for vdsl..
I already got previous fw for dsl-ac88u so just need to force myself to use one without telnet and probably sometime next week I will have a go ;-)

I thought you may have these already, in that case not problem, I may try locked one sometime. Only issue I have is related to amount of errors that is why I think it maybe related to dsl fw. I read somewhere that newest dsl driver from broadcom is more friendly for G.fast than standard vdsl. Apparently older broadcom driver was better for vdsl connection.

My original fw was v1. 10.5 build 502, but I didn’t even run on this one just updated to latest…
Now wonder if different fw may have different dsl drivers?
Edit
I can see that build 502 and 503 was with previous dsl driver. Is there a chance to get these with telnet unlocked? Pretty please :)

For me ram stayed at the moment at 180MB so no issues here . Im not sure if this what you mentioned about QoS including download speed for individual device connected.

Most of great futures in AC-88U in wifi settings need to be disabled as they more cause problems than improvements..
Attached my settings for booth 2.4 and 5Ghz
Forgot to mention, I got roughly 10 devices connected to WiFi and no problems with these settings.

SRA is kind of stability with dynamic line adjustment. I was suprised that it was on ECI cabinet because I read not much things is available on ECI, definitely SRA works on Huawei cabinets on all stages.

you will get nice output what may be in use by DLM. In my case SRA was “Off” on interleave even that in DSL settings in router was on, on fast patch is “On” (SRA)

Also it doesn’t really matter on FTTC as long as profile is set correctly (17A on mine) which define bandwidth.
Think which is really interesting is that when you type in this command in telnet : bcm_xdslctl profile –show
you will get nice output what may be in use by DLM. In my case SRA was “Off” on interleave even that in DSL settings in router was on, on fast patch is “On”

Just curious to know what errors you are getting now including FEC.
At the moment I got quiet few CRC errors, quiet few ES errors some SES but not at all FEC on downstream (few on upstream).
So basically FEC errors you will get only when Interleave is applied to the line (in my case?)

However Annex B for modulation is 100% correct to be used in UK.

That reduced amount of FEC errors a lot, and as you see on my stats after 6 days wasn’t too bad. Now with fast patch I don’t have any on downstream.
Definitely was worth, ping now to google 10ms, looking forward to see how good will be playing online now with my son 😊
Ip profile is 69Mb something, and speed test go up to 68Mb/s, so happy with end results.
